We are seeking a Senior IT Technician to oversee critical network and system functions at our customer site (ESA-ESTEC). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in enterprise networking, system security and infrastructure administration.

Main Responsibilities

As Senior IT Technician you will concentrate your activities on the following:

Network Infrastructure: Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routing and switching across LAN/WAN environments.Security Management: Implement, monitor, and optimize organization-wide security policies and protocols, including firewall rule management.Active Directory & Group Policies: Administer group policies, manage domain architecture, and maintain user access with best practices.PKI: Deploy and manage Public Key Infrastructure, handle digital certificates, and support secure communications.VMware: Oversee virtual machine deployment, maintenance, and disaster recovery planning within VMware environments.Technical Escalations: Provide expert-level support for complex issues.Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed documentation for changes, incidents, and compliance tasks. Do you think you are the person we are looking for? See below what experience or knowledge you should bring:

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline.5+ years’ experience in a technical support role.Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Security+, VMware VCP, or equivalent preferred.Exceptional problem-solving and customer service skills.Profound understanding of routing and switching technologies; advanced troubleshooting skills.In-depth experience with firewall management (configuration, monitoring and rule sets).Demonstrable proficiency in security best practices, network hardening and risk identification.Substantial experience managing Active Directory, including implementation of group policies for enterprise environments.Hands-on experience with PKI management (certificate authorities, SSL) in a corporate setting.Strong experience in managing Linux servers.Strong administration skills with VMware (vSphere, ESXi, virtual networking).Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff and write clear documentation.Candidates must be EU nationals.Candidates must be eligible for national security clearance and relevant export control authorisation.
