The Senior IT Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the stability, security, and future-readiness of Ayvens Bank’s IT landscape. This role is responsible for the continuity and smooth operation of the bank’s core applications and cloud platforms, as well as the implementation of changes to meet regulatory and business needs. As a senior member of the IT team, this role also supports supplier coordination, participates in audit preparations, and contributes to information security and risk management efforts.

Ayvens Bank is an Online Savings bank. The bank started its activities in the Netherlands in 2010 and expanded to Germany in 2015. It currently serves over 280,000 clients and manages more than 14 billion euros in assets. The bank consists of a team of approximately 30 employees. The IT team currently includes five members and collaborates closely with three major outsourcing partners.

Senior IT Specialist is a full-time role.

Key expertise areas

Key expertise area: Application & Platform Management (40%)

Ensure high availability of Ayvens Bank’s core systems and services outside of scheduled maintenanceManage and test application changes, such as interest rate updates, system updates, and user access rightsPerform patch management across environments to maintain application and platform securitySupport regulatory requirements including Deposit Guarantee Scheme (DGS) and Tax ReportingCreate and maintain operational reports for business departments from the core banking systemsDocument key operational processes and support the IT Support Specialist in maintaining user-facing instructionsMonitor system performance and follow up on incidents to resolutionAct as second-line support for functional IT questions raised by colleaguesContribute to the IT continuity plan and participate in recovery exercisesAvailable outside office hours for business-critical incidents

Key expertise area: Cloud Computing (30%)

Manage and support Ayvens Bank’s Microsoft Azure environmentConfigure and maintain virtual machines and Azure Virtual DesktopsAdminister Office 365 services, including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and ExchangeSupport identity, device, and access management within Microsoft 365 ecosystemCollaborate with outsourcing partners for cloud-based service management and troubleshootingSet-up and manage VPN connections

Key expertise area: Information Security & Risk (20%)

Support the Cyber Security Specialist in executing the bank’s information security policyAct as the first line of support for IT-related risk and privacy assessmentsReview and follow up on penetration test findings in coordination with suppliers and the Cyber Security SpecialistDetect, document, and escalate information security incidentsMaintain the bank’s certificate infrastructure (TLS, device certificates, etc.)Key Expertise area: Supplier Management (10%)Participate in tactical meetings with key IT suppliersMaintain strong operational contact with outsourcing partners on incidents and service qualityServe as backup to the Head of IT for supplier and vendor management activities

Required level of education and technical abilities

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related technical fieldStrong understanding of cloud-based IT environmentsCertifications in cloud management or Microsoft technologies (e.g., AZ-104, MS-700)Familiarity with financial services processes, including savings account administration, payment flows, and instant/non-instant payments is an advantage

Required work experience

5–8 years of relevant IT experienceProven expertise in managing and supporting Azure cloud infrastructuresHands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Teams, SharePoint, and ExchangeExperience working in an Agile/Scrum team environmentFamiliarity with IT operations in a regulated sector (e.g., banking, insurance) is a plus

Language and other requirements

Strong communication skills in Dutch and English, both verbal and writtenAbility to work independently and take ownership of incidents and projectsRequired to be reachable outside office hours for business-critical incidents
