Senior IT Manager

TerraPower's IT team is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of all enterprise systems from data center infrastructure to applications. The team is seeking a Senior IT Manager to lead the team supporting TerraPower’s core enterprise infrastructure and systems. This includes resources hosted at our local data center, in our Azure tenant or as a SaaS offering. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our IT operations as we continue to expand our facilities and capabilities.

 

Candidates should have experience managing the staff that implement and maintain a variety of applications and infrastructure components. They should be comfortable working both independently and with other IT management, across departments, and with outside partners. Attention to detail is critical. Candidates should have experience supporting users, hardware and applications in an enterprise environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

•         Lead and manage the IT infrastructure and application support systems team

•         Develop and implement IT strategies that align with company growth and objectives

•         Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage and backup technologies

•         Oversee the teams responsible for deployment and maintenance of applications supporting the enterprise and programs, including project support for requirements, evaluation of solutions and project staffing during deployment, production support until application retirement

•         Ensure the security and integrity of company data and systems through patching and upgrades

•         Manage IT infrastructure and application projects and coordinate with other departments to support business initiatives

•         Defining requirements for alerts from application monitoring system to support performance and reliability

•         Manage alerting solutions for systems under IT management, including communication with team, internal stakeholders and users as required

•         Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation

•         Provide technical guidance and support to team members and end-users

•         Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure continuous improvement

•         Support engagements with external vendors supporting procurement and implementation activities, including vendor management on deliverable quality and cost management

Qualifications

•         Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

•         A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in IT management, with a focus on infrastructure and application support

•         Proven experience leading and managing IT teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment

•         Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and storage

•         Experience with both on-premises and cloud-based systems

•         Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

•         Excellent verbal and written communications skills

•         Ability to build productive working relationships with others

•         Experience providing guidance on steps to optimize system performance and reliability

•         Experience developing and maintaining IT policies, procedures, and documentation

•         Current with industry trends and emerging technologies

Nice to have qualifications

•         Experience with HPC infrastructure and operations

•         Experience with Confluence and Jira

•         Experience with GitHub Enterprise and CI/CD for code management and testing

•         Experience with Ansible deployments

Salary Level 12: $169,922 - $ 235,464

*Typically, our employee salaries are within .90 – 1.0 of the mid-point of the posted salary band.  Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual’s qualifications and experience.  This range is specific to Washington State.
