PurposeThis role manages and supports international experiential learning programs for the College of Natural Sciences, including overseeing initiatives like faculty-led programs and research abroad (AIF). Responsibilities include program coordination, budgeting, faculty collaboration, student support, and aligning efforts with the College’s strategic goals. To advance our core mission of fostering wellness, belonging, and success for all students.
ResponsibilitiesProgram Strategy, Development & Expansion: Develop and coordinate international experiential learning programs in CNS including faculty-led programs, AIF, and other customized education abroad opportunities. Ensure international programs align with CNS experiential learning strategic goals. Meet with CNS faculty to advise on program development and international program options for students. Support the faculty proposal, selection, and awarding process for CNS faculty-led programs.Administrative Support & Contracts: Negotiate and process contracts with vendors and UT Business Contracts for international programming, and work as point of contact with vendors to execute student-focused programming. Provide administrative support for faculty-led and short-term programs in the college, including promotion, development, and budgets. Coordinate with UT and international partners to ensure CNS participation in exchange and affiliate programming, including administration of the AIF program. Develop and manage emergency response plans.Student Advising, Support, & Promotion: Manage student applications, scholarships, and preparation for their abroad experiences. Design and execute pre-departure orientations, returnee sessions, and program surveys, and provide support for students during international experiences. Create advising tools, resources, and promotional materials to support CNS students exploring study abroad and experiential learning abroad options. Plan and execute events to promote international program opportunities including information sessions, panels, tabling, and other promotional events. Hire, train, and supervise student staff to advise CNS undergraduate students on international program options and application process. Provide 1-1 support and planning for AIF program students.Liaising & Collaboration: Represent the College of Natural Sciences in on-campus and off-campus meetings and conferences to promote collaboration, information exchange, and professional development related to international education. Attend regular meetings with Texas Global Study Abroad Network and with the Education Abroad team to ensure that best practices and administrative protocols are being followed, and for ongoing access to training and resources. Liaise with Global Risk and Safety as necessary and appropriate for health and safety preparation of students and emergency management. Connect with exchange partners to explain and promote AIF program.Experiential Learning Team Engagement: Engage deeply as a staff member of the innovative CNS Office of Experiential Learning (ExL) team, participating in team meetings, events, special projects, communications, and day-to-day operations of the ExL office. Contribute thoughtfully to ExL team projects, proposals, and vision. Other duties as assigned, including supporting special projects and staffing events within CNS.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree. Minimum of five years’ experience coordinating or administering a project. Demonstrated experience in international programming and education abroad. Applicant must be organized and capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks and managing their time. The position will require attention to detail, effective problem-solving skills, and excellent judgment. A proactive team player with demonstrated excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external constituents. Experience coordinating events and using web-conferencing services. Adaptable to changing conditions and flexible in working with different individuals. Ability to work at a high level with minimal supervision. Professional demeanor in all activities and interactions. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred QualificationsExperience managing a budget. Familiarity with and/or experience in one or more of the following: higher education, STEM education, and experiential learning. Experience in advising and coordinating programs such as exchange, affiliated, faculty-led, internships, or experiential opportunities abroad. Extensive experience living, studying, or working overseas. A proven track record of initiating new programs or projects and evaluating their effectiveness in achieving desired outcomes. Knowledge of student health, safety, and security issues in study abroad programs. Proficiency in a foreign language.
Salary Range$60,000-$65,000
