Senior Internal Auditor
As a result of company growth, we are currently expanding our internal audit team to bring onboard a new Senior Auditor. The Senior Auditor will be responsible for successfully delivering on our internal audit plan and strategy. Reporting directly to the Manager, the successful candidate will provide recommendations and advice to strengthen internal controls, improve business operations, increase profitability, and reduce corporate-wide costs.

A “Day in the Life" of a Senior Internal Auditor

Complete financial, operational or compliance audits using a risk-based methodology under the supervision of the Internal Audit LeadAssess and report on control design and effectiveness. Report on deficiencies by testing the performance of controls against company policies, standard operating procedures, and external regulationsPrepare and/or assist with documenting audit findings and recommendations through written memos or audit reports that mitigate risk, improve operations and profitability, and reduce costsMonitor, validate and report on the implementation status of management action plans resulting from audit engagementsProvide advisory services, investigations, and deliver ad hoc projectsProvide effective communication and education of internal control policiesProvide support to the business to implement operational improvements and to ensure consistency with company policies, procedures, and external regulations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

University degree and professional accounting designation requiredAbility to identify risks and recommend cost-effective internal controls and/or best practicesStrong verbal and written communication, analytical and presentation skillsExpertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointDriver’s license for use in Canada and US for travel is requiredAuthorized to work and travel as required in Canada and US (~25-35% travel)CIA, CFE, CISA, CRMA or other accounting, auditing, fraud, or risk designations considered an assetExperience in manufacturing and waste management industries considered an assetStrong verbal and written communication in French considered an assetKnowledge of Data Analytics software, GRC software (e.g., AuditBoard), Workday, Cognos, Power BI systems and processes considered an asset
