About Weatherford’s Assurance Department:
Weatherford’s Assurance function (“Assurance”) evaluates the adequacy of the design and operating effectiveness of the company’s internal control and management systems to assist company leadership in achieving organizational objectives. The mission of Assurance is to enhance and protect organizational value by providing objective assurance, advice and insight to the organization regarding the effectiveness of operations, controls and governance processes on behalf of management, the Board and our other stakeholders. The Assurance group is an independent function that reports directly to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. Assurance is responsible for managing Weatherford’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program and Fraud Risk / Analytics program.
Scope:
Works as an integral part of the Assurance team in performing financial, operational, and compliance audits. Will assist Assurance team members and leadership in executing the annual audit plan. Responsible for audit fieldwork, formalizing working papers, and preparing audit report findings and recommendations. Responsible for partnering with internal Assurance full-time investigators to review enterprise hotline allegations. May be involved in various other special projects. Will work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain or another related field (Master’s preferred).3 – 5 years of audit or accounting experience, with at least 1 year in the energy or oil & gas industry. Will consider candidates with an O&G operational background that possess a strong understanding of financial concepts and business processes. CPA, CIA, CFE preferred. JDE, Oracle, Hyperion or equivalent systems.Willing to travel up to 40%.Fluent in English.Strong oral and written communication skills. Fluency in another language preferred (Spanish, Mandarin, Portuguese, Arabic, etc.).Skills Required:

Work independently with limited guidance from managers. Ability to handle multiple projects and complete each within their prescribed time frames.Firm understanding of the concepts surrounding accounting software applications.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Working with a team of auditors in the field on various projects, as well as special projects, as requested. Preparing and reviewing (includes self-review) audit files and audit reports in compliance with departmental standards as well as the International Standards for the Practice of Internal Audit. This includes complete and concise file documentation with accurate explanations and good grammar. Leading, arranging, and organizing impromptu or formal meetings with process owners in the field.Establishing and maintaining excellent open, professional, and collaborative relationships with all levels of management within the company. Writing audit programs and procedures as required and/or adjusting existing procedures when needed. Effectively managing open items including notifying the audit manager of any missing audit requests to prevent project delays, as well as prompt client notification of incomplete or incorrect items.Draft audit findings and present to process owners.Assist audit management with audit remediation and follow up to effectively close previously identified audit issues through inquiry, evidence review, and validation testing. Taking ownership of successes and failures with a humble attitude always seeking to learn more. Maintaining a fiduciary responsibility for all company assets and resources, within his or her control.Supervision: Receives supervision from Managers on audit projects. Reports to Senior Manager.
