The Senior Instrument Support Engineer for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for global service and support of Microbiology instruments and core team representation in product development projects. The Global Product Technical Support team members participate in new product development and design change projects and are responsible for:
Collect and distill voice of service and ensure serviceability requirements are translated into design inputsDevelop service and support plans to successfully prepare the regional service and support organizations to install, maintain and repair newly commercialized productsCreate all service and support deliverables such as spare parts set up, service documentation, service systems set up, training content creation and deliveryExecute global product roll outs and assess country and reginal readiness prior to product launchThis position reports to the Global Product Technical Support Manager, is part of the Global Product Technical Support team - Microbiology Engineering and Services department located in West Sacramento, CA and will be ONSITE five days a week.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Provide technical support by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electro/mechanical failures on Microbiology instruments to internal, in-country and regional service personnel around the worldRespond to situations where first and second-line of product support has failed to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment. Represent the highest level of problem escalationInvestigate and escalate design, reliability and maintenance problems or defects to appropriate functionProactively monitor Service KPIs and analyze data to identify and plan for opportunities of improvementMay be responsible for developing and conducting technical knowledge transfers to other internal functions and regional support organizationsThe essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s Degree in biomedical, mechanical, or electrical engineering with 5+ years of experience in the field OR Master’s Degree in the same disciplines with 3+ years of experience in the field OR 10+ years of equivalent and relevant experience.Demonstrated ability of formally mentoring field service engineers in solving complex instrument repairs and escalationsExperience in developing and executing action plans that include cross functional and multidisciplinary team membersTravel Requirements:
This position requires up to 15% flying and/or driving travel, which includes overnight stays. Travel will primarily be domestic but may occasionally be international.It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

The annual salary range for this role is $110,000.00-$130,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
