The chief responsibility of the Department of Anesthesiology is to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients having surgical operations, painful invasive procedures, and childbirth. The University of Colorado affiliated hospitals have top nationally-recognized physicians delivering the best possible anesthetic care as well as a full range of perioperative care. This position is a one-year appointment focused on clinical responsibilities and provides two non-clinical education days per month with structured POCUS training. While working clinically, selected applicants administer care alone, which requires the individual to examine the patient before and after anesthesia, write pre and post anesthesia orders, confirm that the patient is ready for anesthesia before induction, manage the anesthetic period, and follow the patient as long as is appropriate in the post anesthesia period. Individuals will practice only at University of Colorado Hospital on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. Candidates must have a strong working and theoretical knowledge of Anesthesiology and Peri-operative Medicine and be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Colorado.
