The Sr Instructional Designer is a key partner to the Learning Program Managers and Talent Development team, supporting both in-office and remote team members across the organization.
The Sr Instructional Designer is hands-on, drives excellence in learning content creation, and provides comprehensive instructional design support. The ideal candidate will be a creative, well-rounded instructional designer with experience in developing engaging learning content across various modalities. They will bring innovative ideas, strategies, and the ability to enhance learning experiences through modern instructional design practices. Expertise in adult learning principles, data analytics, and the integration of AI technologies will be essential. The Sr Instructional Designer collaborates closely with key stakeholders to achieve organizational learning goals.
Essential Responsibilities/Success Factors
Content Development and Design
Create Effective Content: Develop engaging and digestible content using adult learning principles, best practices, and learning innovations. Apply Instructional Design Methodology: Create effective learning content using established instructional design methodologies. Leverage AI for Content Development: Utilize AI tools to accelerate the content development process, enhancing efficiency and innovation in instructional design. Create and Scale Microlearning: Design designing and scaling microlearning modules that deliver impactful, bite-sized learning experiences.Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
Provide Performance Consultation: Consult with the business to assess learning needs and solutions, collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy. Communicate with Stakeholders: Present ideas and assessment results with logic and fact-based evidence to internal clients; proactively communicate and align on timelines and deliverables. Partner with Learning Teams: Collaborate with Learning Program Managers and Learning Delivery Specialists to achieve learning objectives.Evaluation and Improvement
Evaluate Learning Effectiveness: Conduct assessments and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs, making improvements based on feedback and outcomes. Utilize Data Analytics: Leverage data analytics to assess learner engagement and performance, using insights to refine learning strategies. Implement Continuous Improvement: Continuously update and improve learning materials to align with user feedback and evolving business needs.Project and Experience Management
Manage Multiple Projects: Oversee and manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes. Incorporate User Experience (UX) Design: Apply UX design principles to create intuitive and engaging learning experiences. Enhance User Experience with AI: Apply AI technologies to improve the user experience, facilitating the application of knowledge and skills in real-world scenarios.Content Strategy
Approach Content Design Modularity: Approach all content design in a modular and scalable manner to ensure flexibility and adaptability. Apply Non-Traditional Learning Approaches: Utilize multiple non-traditional approaches to learning, including social learning, learning nudges, and experiential learning techniques. Stay Updated with Industry Trends: Continuously research and integrate the latest trends and innovations in learning technology and instructional design to keep content fresh and relevant.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 7 years in instructional design roles, with a proven track record of creating engaging learning content across various modalities. Technical Skills: Proficiency in instructional design tools such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, and video editing software. Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and AI-driven learning platforms. Knowledge: Strong understanding of adult learning principles, learning best practices, and learning technology.
Preferred:
Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP)
