Position Overview 

This role is responsible for the implementation and the administration of all virtualization and storage systems. You will lead the install and configuration of hosts and guests as well as perform software upgrades and maintenance. You are responsible for designing and implementing highly available virtualization and storage systems and resolving incidents in a timely manner. This position requires hands-on expertise in cloud technologies, infrastructure as code (IaC), and system reliability, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead medium to large sized projects, providing technical guidance to a project team of peer engineers both internal to your team, and across teams. Design, administer, and maintain geographically distributed cloud infrastructure to support high availability, scalability, and performance in a SaaS environment. Prepare and present technical changes to the Change Advisory Board (CAB), ensuring minimal service disruption and alignment with business objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including product and engineering) to design and implement infrastructure solutions that enhance and expand the SaaS service catalog. Work closely with development teams to optimize infrastructure performance, drive automation, and implement scalable solutions that support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Monitor and ensure the health of SaaS infrastructure through monitoring and alerting dashboards, enabling proactive issue detection and rapid resolution. Serve as a subject matter expert on data integrity within SaaS platforms, ensuring accuracy through robust data management practices and conducting regular validation and testing procedures. Develop and review automation scripts to streamline infrastructure operations and improve efficiency by reducing manual tasks, with a focus on infrastructure as code (IaC). Conduct code reviews of peer automation and write code that will improve the stability, reliability, and mean time to resolution of the infrastructure. Mentorship of other engineers on the automation tools created for infrastructure as code objectives.  Participate in on-call rotation, responding to critical infrastructure issues and performing maintenance during off-hours to ensure system reliability and uptime. Conduct capacity planning for both Physical and Virtual infrastructure components 

Education and Experience 

BS in computer science, engineering, or related field 5+ years’ experience in systems design and implementation in complex and high performance environments   Excellent written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills  Demonstrated proficiency in understanding and executing enterprise architecture and software development life cycle methodologies.   Comfortable with performing proof of concepts and technical evaluations  Expert knowledge of Windows operating systems including Server 2016, Server 2019, and Server 2022   Expert technical knowledge of Microsoft Server Network Infrastructure including Active Directory Domain Services, Group Policy, Certificate Authority, DNS, IIS. Advanced experience with Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, Centos/Redhat)  Technical experience with layer-2 and layer-3 networking protocols and managed networking equipment i.e. switches, routers, firewalls  Strong background in infrastructure monitoring systems  Strong Background in automation including web APIs (REST, PowerShell, Ansible) preferred.  Advanced Technical knowledge of VMware (vSphere, ESX, etc.)  

This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements.  You must be available five days per week during designated work hours.  The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. The pay range for this position is $98k - $182k/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
