Senior Information Security Specialist (4513)

We are hiring a Senior Information Security Specialist to support the security administration and operations of complex IT systems for a Federal Law Enforcement client. This role works across multidisciplinary teams to ensure secure system access, log auditing, account lifecycle control, and incident escalation. Ideal candidates will have deep experience in system hardening, privileged access management, audit readiness, and continuous monitoring in regulated federal environments. This position is hybrid supporting a Clarksburg, WV program and requires an active Top-Secret clearance.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Administer and maintain secure IT systems per federal policy, with a focus on audit compliance and account management. Assist Security Officers and stakeholders in maintaining documentation and implementing security controls using approved GRC tools. Conduct periodic reviews of system access controls and coordinate account provisioning for authorized users. Execute privileged account creation/modification/removal, log permissions, and validate role-based access compliance. Monitor system, security, and audit logs using Splunk, and perform threat hunting and anomaly investigations. Ensure timely patching and implementation of approved security-related hotfixes and updates. Provide user support on access issues, assist in resolving escalations, and validate Privileged User (PU) Recommend updates to System Security Plans (SSPs), respond to vulnerability findings, and document resolutions. Participate in periodic security exercises and readiness assessments.

Required Skills & Experience 

Expertise with: Splunk, BigFix, endpoint security platforms, MFA systems, and Windows/Linux environments Experience in account management, permissions administration, and access control enforcement Knowledge of federal cybersecurity policy and NIST 800-53 controls (especially AC, AU, IA, IR, and SC families) Familiarity with compliance documentation (SSPs, POA&Ms, audit responses) Ability to investigate, document, and resolve audit log events and alerts Active TS clearance required.

Desired Skills & Experience 

Security+, CySA+, or similar DoD 8570-compliant certification Experience supporting Federal Law Enforcement or Intelligence Community IT systems Exposure to SAFe Agile environments, Jira, Confluence, and compliance dashboards Familiarity with endpoint logging and event management (SIEM), threat intelligence, and account analytics

The proposed salary for this position is:$103,200—$171,900 USD
