Senior Information Architect

The Senior Information Architect is a member of the Enterprise Architecture team focused on the Marketing, Sales & Services (MS&S) application and Information Technology (IT4IT) portfolio.  As a leader of Information Architects, you will focus the team to modernize and shape information architecture to support Ford’s digital business strategy in Marketing, Sales & Services and Information Technology.

This leadership role is expected to be mature enough in information architecture to lead a team of information architects and be an individual contributor in information / data architecture where needed.  Key programs that the team is currently focused includes Dealer 360, VI&D, ServiceNow implementation in IT4IT and helping to redesign FSR+. 

Education: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or other information technology oriented major is a must; a Maters degree is preferred.  Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience as an Information and Data Architect, at least 10 years of experience in the IT industry and 2 or more years as a people leader. Must be able to demonstrate a solid background in data modeling, canonical modeling, metadata management, data governance, and data flow analysis. Experience with TOGAF, DAMA, and Zachman Framework. Skills/Abilities: Candidate should be able to use PowerDesigner or similar tool to model data architectures. Candidate needs the ability to provide thought leadership in Information Architecture.  Candidate must be able to influence others, demonstrate peer leadership skills, and work as part of a team. Candidate must be self-motivated. Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be able to facilitate and work collaboratively on analysis and design, and must be able to instruct and mentor others.

Experience working with global teams and external partners Develop and maintain strong knowledge of the business functional areas (Material & Inventory Management) for Supply Chain Technical excellence in software design, development, and deployment. Familiar with building cloud-based data platform and/or building data products

Lead a team of information architects to drive change across the MS&S and IT4IT portfolio. Define information architecture strategy, processes and methods for the MS&S & IT4IT architecture community.[RS1] ` Drive information modeling effort for major initiatives in the MS&S and It4IT portfolio. Contribute to the definition and maintenance of the Enterprise Data Model, in partnership with Global Data Insight & Analytics (GDI&A ) team for MS&S and IT4IT. Work with the MS&S and IT4IT architecture community and product teams to digitize information models into a central architecture repository for analysis across the portfolio and making recommendations for optimizing data in these application portfolios. Analyze data assets across the MS&S and IT4IT portfolio in relation to processes, products, and capabilities to uncover patterns that can be digitized into dashboards for finding opportunities for investment. Work with our GDI&A team to identify and prioritize opportunities in the portfolio for advanced data capabilities like MDM, Data Quality, Meta Data Management, Data Stewardship, etc. Promote data standards and data management capabilities to the architecture community. Identify areas where changes in data management practices can add value to MS&S and IT4IT business and improve IT efficiency. Guide architects, application development teams and systems vendors to achieve the Information strategy & vision. Comply with company Information Security Policy and Procedures.  Define and evolve key information architecture artifacts.
