Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Industrial Manufacturing Engineer to work in the Manufacturing Engineering Department in our Papendrecht facility. As Senior Industrial Manufacturing Engineer, you play a key role in providing capability of Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) production process design, performance monitoring and problem solving to operational and development Programs to deliver successful and zero defect results primarily driven by programs like Lockheed Martin’s F-35 Lightning II, Pratt & Whitney Engines and UAMs (Urban Air Mobility).You are accountable for delivering robust, capable manufacturing process technology as it applies to materials, tooling and assembly. In addition, your work will directly contribute to the successful implementation of productive production processes, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, and provides a unique opportunity to be part of the most advanced aerospace programs in the world.
What you'll do
• Exemplifies a safety-first mindset, ensuring full compliance with GKN Fokker Elmo’s Aerospace Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Quality policies• Designs efficient production processes and workflows• Identifies potential layouts and determines facility design• Designs facility layout and personnel requirements in relation to production operations• Evaluates stocking and handling strategies of direct/indirect materials used in operations and logistics • Helps to develop/improve manufacturing documentation and/or product assembly instructions• Monitors operations and reviews production schedules, processes, and specifications toward improving productivity and reducing waste• Evaluates data to implement technological improvements in production processes• Implements controls to monitor costs and minimize production issues• Trains the production personnel and provides continuous mentoring about processes and flows• Helps technical departments and proposal teams to prepare customer proposals
What you'll bring
Education, Experience and Certification Requirements:• BS in industrial engineering or related field such as manufacturing, aerospace or mechanical engineering, required• 2-3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment• Master’s degree in engineering or business management is a plusSkills and Qualifications:• Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken (Dutch language is a plus) • Knowledge of production machinery, processes, and manufacturing environment standards• Understanding of lean manufacturing and supply-chain management• Knowledge about time/motion analysis• Expert at using presentation software and presenting complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders• Expert in usage of problem solving tools• Strong communication and presentation skills• Self-motivated and self-learning approach• Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously• Understanding of ergonomics is a plus• Project management and organizational planning skills is a plus• Experience using computer-aided design (CAD 2D-3D) platforms is a plus• Experience using computer languages (Python, C++ etc.) and/or VBA coding solutions is a plus• Knowledge about PLC, HMI and industrial vision systems programming is a plus• Knowledge about 6Sigma and Minitab experience is a plus.

What we do at Fokker ELMO (EWIS)
Fokker ELMO, part of GKN Aerospace, is a leading player in the design, manufacturing and support for the Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) for Aerospace and Defense programs To make the wiring harnesses, we have everything in-house from start to finish. From complete engineering to our final product, the ready-to-use wiring harnesses, we do this for well-known aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus, Collins Aerospace and Lockheed-Martin. We produce these wiring harnesses worldwide at several sites. In Papendrecht we have approximately 1200 employees. This is what Fokker ELMO is all about: quality and therefore airworthiness.
