The primary purpose of this role is to design and develop lines of products that align with the brand and design strategy, meet merchandising and business requirements, and are
differentiated from competitive national brands. This includes responsibility for applying robust knowledge of manufacturing and trends, understanding the product life cycle and
associated risks, facilitating a design and development process through production, working across the development group, and, overall, increasing Lowe's competitive advantage,
profitability, and market share. Reports directly to Lead Industrial Designer for their specific category.
What you will do
Support the processes and methodologies for the collection and delivery of design research insightsSynthesizes customer insights to frame key design opportunitiesEngages in prototyping, evaluation, testing, and refinement to ensure targeting solution set is desirable and feasibleUses human-centered design methodology to create compelling design solutionsCreates effective 2D control drawing, 3D CAD and detailed product briefs that direct manufacturing vendors to correctly produce designsCommunicates directly with suppliers and manufacturers, refining product and specification details to ensure proper product execution from conception to final productWorks with design team to establish resource needs, deliverables, and deadlinesCoaches and encourages other team members to produce high-quality workCollaborates with cross-functional internal and external product teams to ensure design vision, intent, and engagement is maintained
