Senior In-House Commercial Lawyer

A leading international law firm is looking for a skilled Senior Lawyer to join their expanding procurement legal team. This is perfect for an experienced commercial contracts specialist who is eager to play a pivotal part in the strategic development of a global procurement service. You will be joining a centralised function that underpins the firms operations, working closely with both legal and commercial colleagues to ensure robust contracting processes and effective supplier relationships.

What You'll Do:

As a Senior In-House Commercial Lawyer, you will immerse yourself in:

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad spectrum of commercial and technology contracts, including high-value and complex bespoke agreements tailored to business needs. Collaborating closely with procurement teams and internal stakeholders to secure favourable contract terms while ensuring compliance with organisational policies. Providing expert legal guidance on data privacy matters within contracts, such as data processing agreements and cross-border data transfers, safeguarding sensitive information. Identify opportunities for process improvements within contracting procedures, policies, and standards to enhance efficiency, consistency, and value delivery.

You have the opportunity to work 3 days in the office and 2 from home, ensuring you have the flexibility for your life outside of work and can maintain a cohesive dynamic with your team.

What You Bring:

Joining as the Senior In-House Lawyer, you will have:

Admission in England & Wales with at least 5 PQE, ideally gained through significant in-house roles within commercial environments. Extensive expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts, including technology agreements. A comprehensive understanding of commercial law principles including contract law, data protection regulations (such as GDPR), and risk management frameworks relevant to procurement activities. Experience contributing to or leading process improvement initiatives within legal or contracting operations; openness to new ideas is essential for this evolving team environment.
