Sr. HVAC Technician - JLL
 

What this job involves

You'll be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of complex HVAC and mechanical systems in a commercial facility. This role requires expertise in air handling equipment, refrigeration systems, chillers, boilers, and electrical systems. You'll ensure all systems function efficiently while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
 

What your day-to-day will look like

Monitor and maintain air handling equipment including filter replacement, differential pressure monitoring, and air balancingOperate and troubleshoot specialized refrigeration systems, DX systems, and process/comfort chillersRespond to and resolve system alarms during your shiftMake necessary adjustments to HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, VAV systems, and hot water systemsPerform preventative maintenance on variable frequency drives (VFDs)Monitor utility substations and manage high voltage switching and load distributionComplete routine facility repairs (sheetrock, patching, painting, lock repair)Document work completed and manage inventory of materials and refrigerantsCollaborate with team members on larger maintenance projectsEnsure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations
 

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC and mechanical systemsUniversal EPA Refrigeration certificationExperience with Building Automation Systems (BAS)Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various positions (bending, climbing, etc.)Proficiency with hand tools and equipment specific to HVAC/mechanical workComfort working at heights, in confined spaces, and on lifts/scaffoldingStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work with minimal supervisionProficiency in Microsoft Office and OutlookFluent English communication (both verbal and written)Availability for 24-hour on-call rotation and emergency responseAbility to work in all weather conditions
 

Preferred Qualifications

Trade license, apprenticeship completion, or vocational certificationExperience with high voltage electrical systemsExperience maintaining and repairing centrifugal chillers and cooling towersKnowledge of refrigerant management and EPA compliance requirementsExperience with motor and pump rebuildingExperience with electrical controls and motor control centersProject estimation skillsMan lift, scissor lift, forklift certificationsExperience with confined space entry procedures
 

Location: Onsite

Work Shift: Monday-Friday 7a-330pm

Compensation: $37.50-43/hr.
