Our UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside HR team has an exciting opportunity available as a Senior Human Resources Consultant!
In this role, the Senior HR Consultant will independently provide strategic human resources support to a variety of clinical and non-clinical departments at UPMC Presbyterian and UPMC Shadyside. Daily job responsibilities may include supporting staff and managers with employee relations matters, handling employee investigations and corrective action, working on retention and engagement initiatives, and partnering with leaders to provide consultation on coaching and mentorship. Additionally, the Senior HR Consultant will support HR projects, employee workgroups, and new hire orientation.

**Responsibilities:**
+ Lead business objectives with employees and management, serving as a sr. business partner to management on HR-related issues and acts as a change agent. Accountable for managing and delivering HR programs and services within the organization
+ Partner with leaders to provide and implement HR initiatives that support management and employees across the organization.
+ Collaborate with HR team to design and plan interventions that facilitate organizational changes.
+ Provides leadership and mentorship within the HR department and oversee HR staff as needed.
+ Drive change management practices to enable organizational effectiveness and foster a diversity & inclusion strategy that will maximize our competitive advantage and skills of the workforce.
+ Effectively communicate expectations with business, operational, and HR partners while promoting a One Team collaborative atmosphere in which all functions of HR work together as one team.
+ Participate on local and/or organization wide committees that focus on projects that move the organization forward and towards meeting its strategic goals.
+ Continuously improve skills and knowledge and upgrade business acumen, to stay abreast of industry trends. Demonstrate capabilities and professional knowledge, and the ability to assimilate new knowledge.
+ Collaborate with HR business and operational leaders to identify education gaps and development opportunities for management and employees. Partners with management to provide consultation on coaching and mentorship for staff.
+ Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field and at least three years of employee relations experience required.
+ OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of employee relations experience required.
+ Knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local legislation as it applies to human resources and the employment process is required.
+ Experience with full cycle human resources is preferred, i.e. recruitment, on-boarding, learning and development, compensation, etc.
**Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**
+ PHR, SPHR certification, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification or UPMC HCI Strategic HR Business Partner Certification required within the first 12 months of hire for external candidates. Internal applicants within UPMC HR are required to have the certification requirements in place to be considered for promotional opportunities.
