Hiring for a Human Resources Assistant in Turners Falls!

Job Description

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive support and assistance for various Human Resources functions. This includes payroll preparation and administration, maintaining employee files and records, and assisting employees with a wide range of HR matters.

ResponsibilitiesPerform a variety of payroll duties necessary for processing weekly payrolls, including entering required data to update employee time and attendance information, rate data, and sick or vacation time.Transmit data to an outside processing agency and review and verify the accuracy of returned payroll reports.Distribute payroll checks according to procedures and generate various payroll reports.Maintain accurate employee records and files, and set up manual and electronic employee files.Prepare required documentation for new hires and forward forms for insurance coverage.Perform procedures to terminate employees and update employee records with changes such as name or address, performance evaluations, pay rate changes, and trainings.Monitor employee eligibility for benefits programs and assist with enrollment and claims.Respond to inquiries and provide accurate and timely information regarding HR programs.Check billing for accuracy, verify charges, and process payments, resolving any vendor questions or concerns.Provide administrative support for HR functions, including preparing correspondence, memos, and reports.Compile data and prepare various reports as requested, and manage employment inquiries according to policy.Make arrangements for company events and attend meetings in the absence of the Manager or as requested.Essential SkillsExperience in payroll and benefits administration.Strong background in human resources and data entry.Proficiency in administrative support and ADP payroll systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a relevant field preferred.At least 2 years of payroll processing experience required.Ability to perform a wide variety of HR and payroll duties with an intensive knowledge of procedures.Strong written and oral communication skills.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.Work Environment

This position is fully onsite, working Monday through Friday, with the option of 7 AM to 4 PM or 8 AM to 5 PM shifts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
