Qualification
1. Senior HSE Engineer should possesses a degree in engineering,
2. Environmental science, or a related field, with additional certifications Such as CSP, ASP, CIH, NEBOSH DIP L6, OSHA and ISO 45001.
3. Work Experience: 12+ years in similar capacity
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Elect and set up H&S representative meetings as per statutory requirements.
2. Overall responsibility and compliance of the Company’s H&S, making sure staff are aware of the importance and follow safety protocol.
3. Hazard & Risk Management
4. Implement practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting health and safety and safe working practices in the workplace.
5. Conduct/organise relevant health and safety training for staff as required, including first aid and fire safety
6. Conduct all “risk assessments” as required by legislation and are reviewed at relevant intervals and to maintain records of the same.
7. Conduct & carryout internal and compliance audits of all project sites; report on findings and manage issue log through to completion.
8. Carry out all risk assessments and special assessments for each Project site as required by business, including display screen equipment, manual handling, lone working, forklift loading, pregnant workers, young workers etc.
9. To carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the findings on the relevant forms.
10. Advise the project management of all incidents reportable under ISO, ILO, WHO, standards, guidelines and OSHA regulations.
11. Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports and documents as required.
12. To identify areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, or H.S.E. guidance. Arrange such training/certification once identified.
13. Keep up to date with changes in current legislation and implement such changes where relevant.
14. Bring to the attention of the Leadership Team any relevant new legislation.
15. Attend such courses/seminars run by external sources to enable accurate interpretation of legislation to enable implementation within the organisation.
16. Liaise with the Facilities Co-coordinator to establish contractor health & safety procedures.
17. Participate in monthly and weekly safety committee meeting with members of Safety Committee related to Emergency Response Plan to create strong communication so that the departments always get- informed about the latest HSE developments.
