Job Title: Senior HR Generalist

Location: Plymouth, MN (Onsite)
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: $65,000-$70,000 annually, depending on experience

About the Role:

Beacon Hill's client in Plymouth, MN is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior HR Generalist to oversee key functions related to leave management, worker's compensation, and safety compliance. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering the chance to step into a leadership role while also actively managing day-to-day HR operations. The HR Supervisor will have at least one direct report and collaborate closely with the Senior Director of HR to ensure compliance, efficiency, and high-quality service to employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision & Leadership

Supervise at least one direct report, including hiring, training, workflow management, and performance evaluations.

Provide coaching, development, and support to direct reports and collaborate with broader HR team members.

Partner with the Sr. Director of HR on employment decisions and disciplinary actions.

HR Operations - Leave, Workers' Comp & Safety

Oversee and process all types of employee leaves (medical, FMLA, COVID, personal), ensuring compliance and proper documentation.

Lead all aspects of worker's compensation case management, including follow-up, metrics tracking, and reporting.

Manage OSHA reporting, DOT records, and safety documentation accuracy.

Lead safety meetings, develop and implement safety protocols, and track safety-related projects.

Compliance & Process Improvement

Respond to employee inquiries in a timely and consistent manner; ensure excellent customer service.

Serve as back-up for direct reports; cross-train and support HR team functions as needed.

Track and report HR metrics to the Sr. Director of HR; assist with identifying trends and process improvements.

Research HR-related legal/regulatory updates; assist with implementing policy and procedure changes.

Maintain accurate documentation, complete data entry, and ensure system updates are properly executed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field, with 3+ years of HR Generalist experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proven experience with leave management, worker's compensation, and safety programs.

Supervisory experience preferred; ability to manage and develop staff effectively.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with UKG Pro and Adobe Pro preferred.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, and work independently in a fast-paced setting.

Experience supporting multi-state employers and interpreting employment laws.
