The Senior HR Generalist will work alongside the Senior HR Business Partner and provide HR support to our sites in Cardiff and Stevenage. The role will lead and promote excellence in delivery of all operational HR processes including Talent and Leadership Development, Performance Management, Diversity & Inclusion, Health and Wellbeing, Engagement and Employee Relations.
The role will work alongside the the Senior HR Business Partner to drive strategic priorities, objectives and targets as well as partnering our first line managers to drive continuous improvement in associate engagement. The role will take ownership of the absence management strategy by guiding and coaching managers on matters of Employee Relations. There is also an opportunity to get contribute to wider HR projects both at the Cardiff and Stevenage sites and within the wider HR team.
The role will be an on-site role that will be based at the Cardiff site (The Maynard Centre, Forest Farm Industrial Estate, Longwood Drive, Cardiff, CF14 7YT) with free parking and a subsidised canteen available, with regular visits to the Stevenage site as and when required.
What you will do:
Talent Management and Development
Facilitate comprehensive training and development programs for managers and associates, fostering leadership capability, employee engagement, and continuous learning.
Assist in the Growth & Development of associates by promoting the talent processes and ensuring managers are supported to coach and develop their team.
Employee Relations
Provide clear and practical advice to line managers and collaborate with HR colleagues on the application of Cytiva’s policies and procedures in line with best practice and employment legislation whilst identifying potential employee relations matters before they escalate to formal issues.
Leading the site absence management program in line with the company absence management policy and applied consistently. Advise managers on both short-term and long-term absence issues, ensuring long-term corrective solutions.
Coordinate the annual performance management programme - Performance for Growth (P4G) for our associates and managers.
Coordinate the utilisation of Wellbeing Provision including, supporting with the occupational health provision and leading wellbeing activities where required.
Data Analysis, Reporting and Record-Keeping
The compilation of daily / weekly / monthly data as required, outlining key HR activities, trends and progress against KPI’s and site/department objectives as well as ensuring visual management displays are kept up to date where appropriate.
Ensure that HR information is kept up to date, and in accordance with Data Protection Legislation, including maintenance of personnel files, electronic and paper.
Change Management and HR Projects
Support change management activities as and when they occur, ensuring effective associate communication and engagement is maintained.
Lead on HR projects that have a site and regional impact.
Who you are:
It is an essential requirement of the role that you have a working knowledge of all areas of the HR spectrum and have previous HR experience working as either a Senior HR Advisor or a HR Business Partner where you have experience of managing and delivering HR projects.
You will have a good working knowledge of Employee Relations matters and can provide demonstratable evidence of supporting in disciplinary hearings, up to and including dismissals, and have dealt with complex grievances.
You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team with good written and verbal communication skills that include listening and counselling.
It is important that you have a continuous improvement mindset and have excellent attention to detail.
You will need to be CIPD qualified at a Level 5 and above; or at a Level 3 and working towards obtaining a Level 5 qualification
As travel to the Stevenage site is required, and on occasion, to other sites across Cytiva, you will need to have a full driving licence
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Experience of delivering training on HR related topics
Working within a manufacturing environment in a blue-collar environment.
