CACI is seeking a talented Senior Hardware Engineer to join our Capabilities Development group within the Command, Control, Communication, and Intelligence business line. In this role, you will design, enhance, and maintain complex hardware systems for the US Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) community. The selected candidate will perform a variety of engineering tasks including: analysis, design, and development in target product areas. The hardware engineer will work both individually and as part of our larger development team. Candidates must be self-motivated individuals who can understand technical concepts, communicate clearly, and are able and willing to collaborate on technical items within the larger project team.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough testing and debugging of hardware prototypes to ensure functionality and performanceParticipate in on-site system installations, providing technical expertise during deploymentConduct thorough factory and site acceptance testing to ensure system quality and performanceCreate and maintain detailed system diagrams, wiring diagrams, power budgets, BOMs, etc. for IT Shipboard systemsCreate and maintain hardware specifications, test plans, and technical reports and documentationDevelop and present design reviews to internal teams and stakeholders, clearly communicating technical conceptsPrepare and participate in customer/user presentations and reviewsPrepare and complete Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) to meet program documentation requirements
Qualifications:
Required:
US Citizenship and ability and willingness to obtain a TS/SCI security clearanceBachelors or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field from an ABET accredited university10+ years of experience in hardware engineering, preferably in DoD electronics, telecommunications, and/or consumer related industriesProven experience in designing and developing hardware components and systems, including creating schematics, PCB layouts, and technical documentation Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, signal integrity, and EMC/EMI considerationsExtensive experience with Fiber Optic standards and hardware switching platformsExperience with hardware debugging tools and techniques (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers)Proficiency in CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar)Familiarity with various communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, USB, 10/40/100GbE, PCIe, SATA, Aurora, RapidIO, DDR5, LVDS)Experience with component selection and BOM managementExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teamsSolid understanding of reliability concepts and their application on system performanceFamiliarity with Optical cable designsFamiliarity with Large SAS/NAS and Server processing systemsWillingness to lead technical efforts and help define/document scope and requirementsAbility to evaluate technical trade-offsSelf-starter with good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skillsExperience with large Shipboard system installations and requirementsExperience in transitioning development program to production.

Master's degree in a relevant engineering field10+ years of experience in systems engineering for SIGINT or related defense projectsExperience with thermal management and mechanical design considerationsExperience with radio frequency (RF) communications and/or radar systemsFamiliarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., FCC, CE, UL)Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and tools (e.g., 3D printing)Familiarity with signal processing techniques and DSP implementation in hardwareExperience mentoring junior engineers or leading small technical teamsWorking knowledge of signal processing fundamentalsWillingness to learn and apply the best technology for a given application or serviceExperience with programming and scripting languages such as PythonExperience with DevSecOps pipeline tooling such as GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, Ansible and/or Foreman, etc.Understanding of complex software design concepts, patterns, tools, and best practicesRecent experience with the integration of VPX formfactor systems

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$99,300 - 208,600 USD
