Job Summary:
Our team is seeking a new member who can expand Eurogamer's game strategy guides by creating coverage of popular and trending games in a variety of formats. IGNE’s editorial team is made up of all kinds of people that share a common love of games, TV, movies, comics, tech, and all things geeky. Job Responsibilities:
You’ll write in-depth strategy guides sourced from your own gameplay and based on your expertise.You'll create images, maps, and capture games of all sorts to help guide players to the answers they seek.You’ll track trends and come up with coverage angles for reactive pages that answer popular questions.You’ll work with a style guide and a set of ever-evolving strategies to make pages both useful and easy to find.You’ll promote game help on Eurogamer's many platforms with smart headlines and unique angles.You'll work within guide project timelines, meet deadlines, and be available to shift your work hours occasionally around a major game release.You’ll learn Eurogamers HTML-based content management system (CMS) and use it to prepare your guides, as well as edit others’ guides where appropriate.You’ll collaborate across all the IGNE guides teams, including IGN, MapGenie, Maxroll, VG247, and Rock Paper Shotgun, sharing your knowledge with fellow guide creators to create the most helpful guide network in the biz.Side quests include participating in the creation of all site content, including reviews, news, and previews.Job Qualifications:
You have published video game strategy guide work based on your own gameplay.You are knowledgeable in popular game series and genres and proficient in sharing that knowledge with others.You have experience working SEO terms and phrases naturally into your work so it reads well for humans (and one very particular robot).You have experience editing others’ work for clarity and optimization in accordance with a style guide.Work Environment: Work Schedule: Standard full-time working schedule, M-F. Must be available to shift work hours occasionally around major game releases.Travel Requirements: No travel is required for this role. Physical Requirements: This role involves typical office and computer-based activities, including prolonged periods of sitting or standing and frequent use of hands, fingers, and vision for tasks such as operating a computer, mouse, and keyboard.Work Model: For applicants who reside in or around London, there will be a requirement to go into our offices 2-3 days per week. For others located in different areas around the world, this position will be remote.
