At The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC), our mission is to be the most essential and engaging source of news for the people of Atlanta, Georgia and the South. As we transition from a historic daily newspaper to a dynamic modern media company, we are seeking a talented Senior Growth Product Analyst to join our team. The AJC believes that when you cover the South, you uncover the nation. It’s a belief that’s produced award-winning journalism, elevated our community, and captured the substance and soul of our hometown.
If you're ready to make headlines with your talent and drive, we want you on our team. Apply now and be a part of the next chapter in the AJC’s transformation.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) is evolving from a legacy newspaper into a modern digital media company, committed to delivering credible, compelling journalism that informs and engages Atlantans and the broader South.
We’re looking for a Senior Growth Product Analyst to help accelerate this transformation by uncovering insights that fuel smarter product decisions and drive user growth across the digital experience. This role sits at the intersection of product, growth, and data—focusing not just on how we market to users, but on how we design, optimize, and personalize the experience to grow our subscriber base and keep users coming back.
You’ll dive deep into user behavior data to analyze the full product funnel—from visit to subscription to retention—surfacing insights that inform product roadmaps, guide experimentation, and shape growth strategies. You’ll use tools like Tableau, Amplitude, and Snowflake/SQL to turn raw data into compelling narratives that help cross-functional teams build better products.
This is not a marketing analyst role—it’s about how our product grows, not just how we promote it.
What you’ll do:
Analyze the end-to-end digital experience, identifying product friction points and opportunities to improve acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention
Develop dashboards in Tableau that provide product and growth teams with real-time visibility into KPIs, experiments, and performance trends
Map and optimize user journeys using Amplitude—surfacing insights that support experimentation, personalization, and product design decisions
Collaborate with product managers to define and track success metrics for features, funnels, and user behaviors
Partner with engineering and data teams to ensure proper tracking is in place for key user interactions and events
Support A/B testing and experimentation by helping define hypotheses, segment users, and evaluate results
Work closely with marketing, editorial, and engineering stakeholders to build shared understanding of how users discover, engage with, and subscribe to our content
Use SQL to extract, clean, and analyze data from Snowflake and other platforms as needed
Present actionable insights in clear, visual, and compelling ways to help non-technical teams make smart product decisions
What you bring:
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree plus 4 years of direct experience
4+ years in product analytics, growth, digital strategy, or a similar role
Required experience with product analytics tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, or GA4—comfortable building funnels, user segments, and behavioral cohorts
Strong Tableau skills—you can build dashboards that inform and inspire action
Strong proficiency in SQL—you’re able to pull and manipulate data independently
A deep understanding of ecommerce, digital funnels, and subscription-based businesses
Experience working closely with product teams to shape roadmaps, inform prioritization, and support experimentation
Clear communication skills—you can tell stories with data and influence decisions
A collaborative, curious mindset—you’re excited by tough questions and cross-functional work
Highly preferred experience in news/media, membership models, or high-volume consumer platforms
Must live within a commutable distance to Atlanta Midtown
Why it matters:
To grow our mission and our audience, we need to understand not just what our users do—but why. You’ll play a critical role in making the AJC’s digital products smarter, more personalized, and more effective at serving our readers and growing our impact.
