Senior Global Trade Manager, Beneficial Trade City Irving State/Province Texas Overview:

Celanese is seeking a strategic Senior Global Trade Manager, Beneficial Trade to lead our digital and global beneficial trade operations from our Irving, Texas office, reporting directly to the Director of Trade. This leadership role drives beneficial trade strategies, digital programs, and innovative solutions, with a high emphasis on advanced digital reporting leveraging multiple data source inputs. The Global Trade Manager will oversee a high-performing global team, ensuring expertise in free trade agreements (FTAs), tariff classification, customs valuation, origin determination, export controls, sanctions compliance, trade risk management, and global trade policy advocacy, while integrating trade into the supply chain for maximum value.

Responsibilities: Develop and execute a global trade strategy focused on beneficial trade outcomes, maximizing duty savings and competitive advantages through FTAs, duty drawback, FTZ’s, inward processing, tariff optimization, export incentives, and strategic supply chain integration.Lead digital transformation initiatives, integrating cutting-edge programs and solutions (e.g., SAP GTS enhancements, automated compliance tools) to streamline trade processes and reporting.Oversee the global trade compliance team (Supervisors, Specialists, Senior Associates, Associates), aligning their efforts with Celanese’s business objectives and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.Drive advanced trade analytics, synthesizing multi-source data inputs (e.g., SAP, customs databases, export control lists, sanctions screenings, supply chain systems, market trends) into actionable insights, comprehensive reports, and dynamic dashboards using Excel and SAP tools.Ensure global compliance with customs regulations, tariff classifications, valuations, origins, FTAs, export controls (e.g., ITAR, EAR), and sanctions regimes (e.g., OFAC, EU sanctions).Architect and manage SharePoint-based digital solutions to enhance global collaboration, document management, and process automation, integrating diverse data sources for real-time trade visibility.Proactively manage trade risks (e.g., audits, sanctions violations, supply chain disruptions) using predictive analytics and risk mitigation strategies derived from multiple data inputs.Advocate for Celanese in global trade policy discussions, engaging with industry groups, governments, and regulators to shape favorable trade frameworks and digital trade standards.Integrate trade compliance and optimization into the global supply chain, collaborating with procurement, logistics, and manufacturing to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.Optimize SAP GTS configurations and integrations globally, ensuring scalability, accuracy, and robust digital reporting capabilities across all trade functions.Represent Celanese in external trade forums and negotiations to advance beneficial trade policies and digital innovations. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Data Science, or a related field.7+ years of experience in global trade compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS) experience preferred.Expert mastery of global trade disciplines, including:Free trade agreement (FTA) qualification and optimization.Tariff classification, customs valuation, and origin determination.Export controls (e.g., ITAR, EAR) and sanctions compliance (e.g., OFAC, EU sanctions).Trade risk management and mitigation strategies.Global trade policy advocacy and regulatory engagement.Supply chain trade integration for cost and compliance benefits.
