Beacon Hill Financial is working with a corporation in Tysons Corner, VA to bring a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to their team. This role is responsible for overseeing the accuracy of financial reporting, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, managing general ledger activities, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The Senior Accountant will work closely with cross-functional departments and leadership to provide financial insights and help drive strategic decision-making. This role will require days onsite in Tysons Corner, VA. A CPA is highly preferred for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Analyze financial statements and variances, and prepare reports for management.
Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation and schedules are audit-ready.
Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Collaborate with AP, AR, and Payroll teams to ensure proper recording of transactions.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities with accurate financial data.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA-track preferred).
4+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a corporate or public accounting environment.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in a multi-entity or multi-state environment.
Background in audit, financial analysis, or process improvement a plus.
