As Software Engineer, we are seeking individuals who have a passion for technology, developing solutions, and providing thought leadership for new and emerging technology or best practices. You will be a key hands-on contributor within a team of talented software engineers at Optum, supporting the Nevada Market. We’re responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the application ecosystem that supports a best-in-class Nevada Market operation. · Design, build and deploy performant and scalable solutions by applying engineering concepts like algorithms, data structures and development best practices
· Use best practices and experience to design, code, build, and test software solutions
· Determine best technical solutions and document detailed design based on requirements
· Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
· Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
· Conduct or facilitate root cause analysis on all in-scope incidents and recommend a corrective action plan
· Work with team to achieve timely resolution of all production issues meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements
· Conduct code review to ensure the work delivered by the team is of high quality standards
· Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs
· Participates in requirements gathering, program design, and database design
· Uses technical knowledge and experience to resolve development and support issues
· May lead and direct the work of others, including code reviews and mentoring other staff on industry best practices
· A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected to accomplish goals
· Familiar with Continuous Integration and Delivery tools like Jenkins, GitLab or Azure DevOps
· Use best practices and experience to design, code, build, and test software solutions
· Determine best technical solutions and document detailed design based on requirements
· Lead application build team for selected projects
· Software design experience using object-oriented patterns, SOLID, and similar development principles
· Ability to take on a complex technical problem that is not well-defined, decompose into manageable tasks, provide proper estimates, and lead/coordinate other team members to collective deliver the end solution
· Ability to prioritize tasks and work concurrently on multiple tasks
· Graduate degree or equivalent experience
· 3+ years of development and testing experience in C# / .Net or .Net Core
· 3+ years of development experience on Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle Database
· 3+ years Database Design/Programming (Stored Procedures/Functions)
· 3+ years of SDLC or DevOps/Agile experience
· 2+ years working experience with API REST web services
· Experience with Front-End UI Frameworks
· Experience with version management tools (Git, AzureDevOps, SVN, etc.)
