Role Overview
This is a FIX based role within our Implementation team. This role is critical to the success of the team across TPICAP and Liquidnet and will add depth of experience to an already strong team around the globe. Primary responsibility will be to innovate and certify the FIX connectivity layer with clients and vendors.
This will include (but not limited to) performing FIX based certifications with buyside OEMS’s, execution venues, managing our UAT environments, and customizations. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring new connections are properly handed off to onboarding and support teams. The role will interact with development and product teams to define certifications and seek new ways to improve workflows, processes, and the testing functionality.
The role requires a high level of technical competency, as well as detailed knowledge of the FIX messaging protocol. The candidate will be expected to work on certifications independently and take lead on driving changes within Liquidnet and the far side, to ensure all business cases are properly covered.
The position will be responsible for supporting North American requests, and interface with colleagues in UK and APAC to drive a unified, global certification process.
This multi-tasking role demands project coordination, practical technical skills, and outstanding communication skills across all levels, with in depth industry knowledge of the fixed income markets. The candidate must enjoy ‘hands-on’ work and writing technical specifications. The role will have exposure to the forefront of electronic equity trading arena.
Role Responsibilities
Perform FIX API based certifications with various third-party vendors, Liquidnet clients and partners.
Work with OMS Vendors to define workflows and specifications for FIX integrations.
Support Liquidnet QA/UAT environments including, backend processes, FIX connections and vendor/partner OMS/EMS components.
Build, maintain, and test certification environments.
Help train members and Liquidnet teams on new product features.
Work with team to test new functionality and creative solutions to existing issues.
Escalate problems as needed to local or global Production Support teams and Development.
Work with technology teams on enhancements to problematic workflows.
Work with OMS Vendors to define specifications for FIX or other proprietary integrations.
Support Liquidnet proprietary interfaces for various OMS vendors.
Manage client application upgrades and new functionality deployments.
Work closely with the sales team to support our core customer base.
Build, maintain, and test demo environments.
Manage new feature validation across the region – sales team / customer focused.
Help train members and Liquidnet teams on new product features.
Provide support for SQL and FIX Technologies for in-house applications and client OMS integrations.
Experience / Competencies
Essential
7+ years of experience in technology preferably on the buy-side, sell-side, or trading vendor.
In depth knowledge of Fixed Income markets and its trading technologies for both dealers and institutional clients.
FIX Protocol certification/connectivity experience a must.
Ability to produce a concise, functional FIX specifications from start to finish that can be used as well as received by clients, partners, and vendors.
Ability to lead technical discussions with clients, technical staff and vendors.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and technical writing.
Desired
Ability to document certifications and provide production with training.
Gather and communicate client requirements to other team members in other regional offices.
Experience with SQL on any DBMS - MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and Sybase database environments required.
Knowledge of Fixed Income buy-side and sell side order management and trading systems.
Demonstrated administration and operation in Linux and Windows.
Functional knowledge of networking, TLS encryption, proxies, firewalls and stunnel.
Basic programming or scripting language (Perl/Python) preferred.
