Join ENERCON's Chief Engineering Group as a Senior Fire Protection Engineer based in the Kennesaw, GA office location. In this role, you’ll apply your technical expertise to ensure NFPA code compliance and provide clear project guidance. You’ll collaborate with a diverse team, analyze fire hazards, and contribute to the growth of our fire protection sector. From reviewing designs to hands-on fieldwork, each day offers new challenges and opportunities to make a meaningful impact. This position can be Part Time.

Responsibilities

Leverage your fire protection expertise to develop effective solutions that enhance safety and resilience across complex facilities. Collaborate with diverse engineering teams to ensure NFPA code compliance, analyze hazards, and provide technical guidance that drives successful project outcomes. With a strong commitment to client satisfaction, this role empowers you to lead, innovate, and contribute to the growth of the fire protection services sector — making a meaningful impact both in design and in the field.

Technical Expertise & Fire Protection Engineering: Provide technical expertise and design criteria in fire protection engineering. Perform work requiring the application of basic technical principles, theories, standards, and concepts (including reading and understanding design drawings and technical specifications as necessary to support preparation of project deliverables, such as calculations, specifications, and engineering evaluations)
Experience in performing fire hazards analyses, fire protection engineering evaluations, and NFPA Code Compliance Calculations is a plusNFPA Code Compliance & Guidance: Determine applicability of NFPA Code Requirements to specific plant configurations and regulatory commitments. Provide technical guidance to project teams concerning NFPA code requirements and operational considerationsCollaboration & Multi-Discipline Teamwork: Work with a team of electrical, mechanical, and civil engineers on projects that require a multi-discipline approachDesign Review & Project Management: Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings, and data prepared by other engineers or subcontractors. Prepare design studies, project scopes, and engineering estimatesField Work: Willing to travel and participate in field installation, checkout, and start-up

Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection engineering or engineering degree with significant experience in fire protection engineeringMinimum 10 years of fire protection engineering experienceExperience in Data Centers and/or Battery Electric Storage Systems is a plusExperience in performing fire hazards analyses, fire protection engineering evaluations, and NFPA Code Compliance Calculations is a plusProfessional Engineer License desired, preferably in Fire ProtectionGood presentation skillsAbility to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teamsMust be proficient with MS Word, Excel, and have working knowledge of hydraulic programs such as HASSGood verbal and written communication skills and the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical dataAbility to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites Additional Information
