Help us transform the everyday by leading mission-critical fire safety systems that protect some of the world's most valuable data infrastructure. As a Senior Fire Alarm Technician, you'll leverage your advanced technical expertise to commission, validate, and optimize comprehensive fire protection solutions. Your role combines hands-on technical leadership with system commissioning oversight, ensuring our cutting-edge data center maintains the highest safety standards while mentoring the next generation of fire protection professionals.

This position is based at our customer’s facility near South Bend, IN, and may require occasional travel to support regional projects.


As a Senior Fire Alarm Technician, you will:

Oversee the commissioning and programming of advanced fire alarm systems, including VESDA detection systems, mass notification, and integrated life safety components while ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and local regulationsLead technical project execution including system programming, start-up procedures, and final acceptance testing while coordinating with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for approvalsAnalyze project specifications, develop commissioning schedules, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of fire protection systems with other building technologiesProvide advanced technical troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex fire alarm systems, including software debugging, electrical diagnostics, and system optimizationMentor junior technicians through knowledge transfer and on-site training while maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including as-built drawings, test reports, and validation records


You will make an impact with these qualifications: 

Basic Qualifications:  

5+ years of experience in commercial fire alarm / life safety system installation, programming, and commissioningNICET Level II Certification in Fire Protection Technology/Fire Alarm SystemsDemonstrated expertise in fire alarm control panels, detection systems, and life safety componentsMust be willing and able to differentiate types/colors of wire; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassistedComprehensive knowledge of NFPA codes, NEC requirements, and local fire protection standardsStrong project leadership and team mentoring capabilitiesExcellence in technical problem-solving and customer communicationMust be willing and available to travel as needed for training and to support future regional projectsMust be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens’ fleet vehicle programLegally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
