Description
We are looking for a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to join our client's team in Overland Park, Kansas. This role involves overseeing the preparation and analysis of management financial reports, recording journal entries, and reconciling accounts for complex accounting areas. The ideal candidate will contribute to process improvements, handle significant accounting transactions, and support audits while collaborating across departments. Responsibilities:
• Prepare and analyze management financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Record journal entries and reconcile accounts for complex accounting areas, including intercompany transactions.
• Assist in accounting for joint ventures and future financing structures.
• Collaborate with the budgeting and forecasting teams to prepare variance reports.
• Support annual internal and external audits, including standalone audits for joint ventures.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects, including system implementations.
• Execute internal controls designed for public companies and ensure compliance.
• Develop and maintain financial reporting processes and systems.
• Contribute to legal company accounting reviews and designs.
• Partner with other departments to achieve strategic objectives and enhance financial processes.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management with a focus on Accounting.
• At least five years of experience in accounting or financial reporting. Preferably public/industry mix or large company experience
• Familiarity with automated accounting systems.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in public accounting, preferably with a Big 4 firm or another large organization.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Strategic thinking and a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and adapt to evolving business needs.
