Job Description
A financial services technology company is seeking a motivated and high-performing professional to join their Controllership team as a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst. The role involves supporting the company’s external and internal financial reporting, external audits, month-end accounting, and assisting with other operational accounting and reporting projects. The ideal candidate is an execution-oriented and strong team player who can work independently and collaboratively to drive operational excellence and ensure the highest standards of audit and financial integrity.
Responsibilities
+ Monitor and track the progress of audit engagements, proactively communicating updates and results to key stakeholders to ensure timely project completion.
+ Coordinate closely with external auditors during the annual testing process, providing necessary documentation and support for efficient and effective audits.
+ Support internal audit initiatives related to SOX controls.
+ Prepare required documentation and gather data to support federal, state, and local tax compliance, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
+ Partner with external tax advisors to complete federal, state, and local tax filings, contributing to ongoing compliance and audit requirements.
+ Support ad hoc projects, analysis, and management reporting initiatives.
+ Lead the preparation of recurring US GAAP and non-GAAP financial reporting deliverables, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
+ Maintain disclosure checklists and ensure compliance with GAAP and disclosure requirements.
+ Stay up-to-date on changes to accounting standards and proactively identify potential impacts on the company’s financial statements.
+ Execute complex accounting for non-standard transactions, including business combinations, debt modifications, equity conversion of convertible instruments, pushdown accounting, consolidations, and other non-routine business transactions.
+ Support complex accounting analyses in areas such as goodwill impairment, reporting unit and reporting segment determination, and non-controlling interest.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional partners in accounting, finance, legal, audit, and IT to address complex accounting topics, including revenue recognition, technical accounting, and reporting matters.
+ Perform key month-end close responsibilities, such as preparing journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure financial integrity.
Essential Skills
+ 4+ years of experience in external audit or similar audit/accounting roles in audit, accounting, tax, finance, or related fields.
+ Excellent understanding of US GAAP and financial statements.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in public accounting.
+ Expertise in financial statement analysis and preparation.
+ Knowledge of accounting standards and disclosures.
Work Environment
The position offers a hybrid work schedule with on-site work from Tuesday to Thursday and remote work from home on Monday and Friday. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $55.29/hr.
