Senior Financial Data Analyst
Job Description:

The Senior Financial Data Analyst on our dynamic team, you will leverage your analytical expertise to unlock valuable insights from complex datasets, driving strategic decisions and enhancing operational efficiency. You will play a key role in advancing our analytical capabilities and directly contribute to our growth by delivering actionable insights to stakeholders. You will also be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional partners, maintaining accurate and timely data delivery, and ensuring data quality and governance standards are upheld across reporting activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Design, develop and maintain dashboards to support reporting and business insights across Finance, Operations, and Strategy teamsPrepare detailed reports to present data trends, patterns and forecasts in a clear and accessible formatCreate workflows to automate data processes and improve efficiencyPerform variance analysis and root cause identification to support executive decision-makingAct as a change agent to drive process improvements, promote analytics maturity, and ensure consistency in reporting standardsSolve complex business problems through data-driven solutions and process optimizationDevelop and maintain SQL/Python scripts and back-end code to support dashboards, automation, and data infrastructureEnsure data accuracy and integrity in all outputs, using QA checks and audit processesCollaborate with Finance and IT stakeholders to align data priorities with business goalsSupport ad-hoc reporting requests and provide insights into business cases, forecasting, and budgeting effortsContribute to continuous improvement of data governance, definitions, and metadata documentationAnalyze large, complex data sets to extract actionable insights related to customer behavior, financial performance, and operational trendsIdentify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns to support strategic decision-makingPresent findings and recommendations to stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making across the businessStay informed on industry trends and best practices in data analysis and data science to enhance analytical processesDocument and maintain best practices for reporting and data analysisMaintain and regularly update monthly reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of critical dataParticipate in tool evaluations, system upgrades, and analytics capability building initiatives

COMPETENCIES - SKILLS

Alignment with strategic business impact, communication, and modern toolsetsDemonstrated analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large volumes of data with precision and attention to detailProven experience analyzing operational and financial data to drive meaningful business insightsProficiency in SQL and Python, with strong capabilities in data transformation, automation, and queryingExperienced in using data visualization tools such as Tableau and/or Power BI to develop executive-ready dashboardsHands-on experience with Alteryx or similar data prep tools is highly desirableExcellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholdersStrong problem-solving abilities and the capability to manage multiple tasks while meeting tight deadlinesSolid understanding of financial statements, business KPIs, and enterprise performance metricsFamiliarity with enterprise performance management tools such as OneStream, Hyperion, or Anaplan is a plusExperience with ETL processes and working with large datasets from multiple systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, Data Lake)Commitment to data integrity, transparency, and governance practicesAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field is requiredMinimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in a data analytics, business intelligence, or financial analysis roleExperience working in a matrixed environment or across finance and IT preferredCertification in SQL, Tableau, or data analytics tools is a plus

JOB SPECIFICATIONS and WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment:  This position may be based in Schaumburg, Ill in a professional office environmentPositions Type/Standard Schedule: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, Hybrid (3 days onsite; Tue-Thu), with occasional extended hours as neededTravel: Minimal travel required (less than 10%)

Pay Range:

$77,400-$108,400

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan which is based on company performance and individual performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience, education, certifications, skill level and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
