Position Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst will report directly to Shakeproof’s Assistant Controller and will be a critical on-site financial partner to our Elgin, IL plant leadership team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with plant operations to deliver actionable financial insights, support decision-making, and help drive performance improvements at the facility level.

This individual will play a key role in the month-end closing process and in developing, maintaining, and distributing key financial and analytical reports. This includes ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports, while also performing detailed reviews and analyses of general ledger activity. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for identifying discrepancies, resolving variances, and maintaining the integrity of financial records in accordance with established accounting principles.

The ideal candidate must be self-driven, capable of working independently, and comfortable engaging with cross-functional leaders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential to support the finance team’s objectives and to provide meaningful partnership at the plant level.

Work Environment and Location Expectations:

This role is on-site at our Elgin, IL facility. Regular presence at the plant is essential to:

Build and maintain strong relationships with plant and operational leadership.Fully understand production and operational drivers impacting financial performance.Collaborate cross-functionally and contribute meaningfully to continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidates must be local to the area or willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a financial partner to plant leadership, providing insights that guide operational decisions and improve performance.Perform preparation, analysis, and communication of monthly financial results, including plant cost performance, inventory, and key operational metrics.Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, human resources, engineering, quality, and supply chain to support process improvements and cost control initiatives.Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activities for plant operations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial statements.Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models, reports, and dashboards to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.Perform variance analysis on material usage, labor efficiency, production volume, and overhead costs; communicate findings and recommend actions.Provide financial support for capital investment projects, including analysis, ROI modeling, and post-implementation reviews.Oversee the annual physical inventory count and ensure its accuracy.Possess a deep understanding of the General Ledger and segmentation processes within operational plants.Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and audit requirements while identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Required Skill, Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred.4+ years of progressive financial analysis experience, ideally within a manufacturing or plant-based environment.Demonstrated ability to partner directly with operational leaders and communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.Proficiency with ERP systems (QAD or Syspro preferred), Excel, and financial reporting tools; experience with Power BI or other analytics platforms is a plus.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset.Ability to work on-site full-time in Elgin, IL and engage directly with plant operations on a daily basis.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment where adaptability and initiative are key.Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.High level of professionalism and integrity.

Compensation Information:

88,000-105,000
