Amazon is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to partner with our Global Workplace Health and Safety Organization on the path to becoming Earth's Safest Place to Work.
This role will support Capex reporting efforts across a diverse range of safety initiatives at Amazon. This role will support the FP&A, develop insightful forecasts and support executive level reporting for our global safety capital portfolio. This role ultimately supports one of the most impactful teams in operations where customer obsession is focused on the safety of our associates. This role works with program managers as well as finance professionals to help invent and simplify processes, validate safety performance measures and report on strategic initiatives which drive improvements in safety.
This role will also own key controllership mechanisms in Safety Finance, supporting global quarterly controls process around fixed assets as well as Safety metric reporting. You will be pivotal to the team's success, as you partner with multiple functions to maintain and expand financial controls. This role will partner will multiple stakeholders within both finance and the business teams to provide financial planning and analysis insights for the Safety organization.
Success in this role requires you to partner with and influence program managers and finance teams, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to an ever-changing environment. You will collaborate with all types of stakeholders, from other finance analysts, to functional business teams, to leaders across Finance, Accounting and other business units within Amazon. You bring best-in-class business partnership while providing strong controllership and control management. You are comfortable leading variance analysis deep dives, presenting to business owners during reviews, and can pivot between the defined financial rhythms and ad-hoc project analyses. You use judgment to prioritize high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, while helping to solve complex problems that affect company-wide decisions.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner with program managers and finance teams to develop and monitor annual, quarterly, and monthly financial plans
- Partners with Safety teams and Operations Finance to support quarterly fixed asset and safety hours controls processes.
- Support financial planning and reporting processes for Safety Capex portfolio
- Identify opportunities to improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance or business tools and processes.
- Collects and analyzes quantitative data to develop relevant reports that drive leadership reporting.
- Participates in hiring, developing, and mentoring peers and team members. Seeks and leverages diverse perspectives in all activities.
- Monitors the Safety Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) on a weekly basis
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis
- Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes
- Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
