Senior Financial Analyst, Operations
**Work Schedule** Standard (Mon-Fri) **Environmental Conditions** Office **Job Description** **Position Summary** As the Carlsbad Site Senior Financial Analyst you will partner with the Carlsbad Operations Site Leaders to deliver on relevant operations and facilities metrics, drive efficiency, and provide recommendations to shape investment decisions. You will be a trusted functional business partner in the development and execution of the annual operating plan (AOP) and play a part in aligning the team goals with division/global operations leadership expectations. The Senior Financial Analyst must be degree qualified, have experience operating with a large multi-national public company, be self-motivated and intellectually curious. Successful candidates must have excellent analytical and take a proactive and common-sense approach to issue resolution. A hands-on style and ability to foster positive cross functional relationships, will be key to this person's success. Outstanding interpersonal skills will be valued in order to communicate efficiently across the regions and across all levels of management. **Key Responsibilities:** + Understand and develop accurate and timely commentary for key assumptions, variance drivers and performance trends at site. + Work closely with key operations business partners to identify and mitigate issues impeding the achievement of business goals. + Develop high level of credibility and forge strong professional relationships with peers and upper management. + Responsible for month-end and quarter-end financial reporting requirements, clearly communicating site performance and partnering with site leadership on key initiatives + Proactively provide insights to forward looking opportunities and/or risks and develop mitigation strategies + Develop long range financial models to facilitate sound financial investments and capital deployment decisions for internal project portfolio. + Partner cross-functionally to provide financial guidance on Productivity improvement, Gross Margin optimization, and business alternatives to improve overall business performance. + Lead analytical support for special operations projects, including business integration planning and new product lines, teamworks, and other investment opportunities. **Critical skills include:** · Strong understanding of financial mechanics and financial systems. · Strong systems skills with ability to learn new systems quickly. Proficient knowledge of Excel is key and familiarity with Hyperion Planning / Cognos EDW and ERP system (Oracle, E1) preferred. · Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work well in a team-based environment. · Thrives in a fast paced and multifaceted environment. · Self-started who can work both independently and as a teammate. · Capability of multi-tasking and prioritising projects/tasks. **Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:** + BS degree in Finance or Accounting or Business-related field + 3+ years of relevant experience supporting business leaders + Knowledge, Skills, Abilities + Prior experience in a large global company and highly matrixed organization + Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to summarize and present information in a concise and effective manner. + Attention to detail and consistently delivering high quality work. Ability to learn quickly, meet timelines and multi-task in deadline driven environment. + Good understanding of business processes and operations & financial controls, able to identify control weaknesses in existing process and recommend mitigation actions. + Ability to balance multiple results, while maintaining timeliness. + Outstanding interpersonal skills and excellent teammate **Preferred Qualifications:** + Cost accounting experience + Experience with Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion planning, Cognos and E1 a plus. + Expertise in MS Excel and Power Point **Compensation and Benefits** The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$125,000.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
