Medtronic Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) provides technologies for the treatment of over 70 health conditions across four portfolios of solutions, serving >78M patients every year across both private and public hospitals. As the Senior Finance Analyst for Cardiovascular (CV), not only will this role oversee the data & analytical finance activities and provide financial support and business analysis to finance business partners to drive financial results and operating performance improvement, the successful candidate will also be taking ownership of a full P&L in one of CV Operating Units (OU), paving the road to a future finance business partner if desired.
This role sits under the CV Business Finance team, reporting to the CV Finance Manager. It includes responsibilities for ensuring/maintaining a strong data control environment, creating/analysing financial performance, leading reporting & analysis transformation, and partnering across the greater organization (OU and function finance).
**Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.**
+ Support financial reporting/close processes, planning, and analysis activities for CV OUs.
+ Deliver accurate and clear financial results and financial comparisons at period end.
+ Understand OU performance, prepare and present monthly analysis, commentary, and forecasting, focusing on key drivers, performance metrics, risks, and opportunities to Finance Leadership and business partners.
+ Partner with OU commercial leaders to develop the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Rolling Forecast (RF), and Strategic Plan for the OU
+ Partner with CV OU Finance Business Partners (FBP) during the financial forecasting and planning processes (RF, LBEs, AOP, Strategic Plan, etc.), including system loading, all revenue, margin, expenses.
+ Build, develop and implement data, models and dashboards, that integrate data from multiple sources, to extract insights and information.
+ Analyse data using statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and correlations, identifying opportunities to improve performance or root causes for poor performance.
+ Create visualisations such as charts, graphs, and dashboards to present data findings.
+ Monitor data integrity and ensure FBPs have accurate and reliable data to inform decisions.
+ Stay updated with industry trends in data analytics tools and techniques so that best practice can be integrated into data and analytics processes.
+ Complete other ad-hoc and/or standard reporting processes as necessary.
**Required Knowledge and Experience:**
+ Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting
+ Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in Finance or Accounting
+ Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
+ Advanced excel and data modelling skills and knowledge
+ Experience with financial/reporting and planning systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion/Essbase, Anaplan etc.), PowerBI and other data visualisations tools
+ Experience and/or able to operate within a complex organization and with various stakeholders.
+ Medical Device, Pharmaceutical or Healthcare Industry an advantage
+ Strong results orientation and bias for action, including a high degree of initiative and self-motivation in understanding business needs.
+ Highly developed analytical skills: able to identify trends, patterns, and insights from data, and translate ideas and financial results into concise reports, visuals and insights.
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong business acumen, with the ability to influence stakeholders across various levels of management and deliver value to the organization.
+ Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities and experience with cross-functional projects that require matrix collaboration, relationship-building, and influencing others.
+ Proactively seeks ways to improve and innovate.
