This role will report to and work closely with the Financial Manager of the Shareholder Finance team in Old Mutual International as well as the Senior Financial Accountant of the Policyholder team.

It requires an individual with a passion for financial management, driving reporting timelines of financial results and execution on the business plan, while managing governance and compliance at an operational level. This position is individually accountable for achieving results through self and others.

Key Responsibilities include:Ensuring the timeous and accurate delivery of key financial reporting, management reporting and regulatory reporting deadlines which include but are not limited to Oracle, HFM, regulatory and KPI reporting.Provides commentary on financial results and implications and advises on corrective action to be taken (financial reporting and management reporting).Managing the financial operations and ensuring adequate financial controls by review of key monthly deliverables.Demonstrates commitment to implementing new technologies and automation of reporting and processes.Ensuring and developing a strong internal control environment through maintenance and continuous improvement of the controls process.Generating BAU and ad hoc internal management reports for key stakeholdersManaging the audits of multiple entities which have different audit engagement requirements.Prepares the business plan and assists in communication with the business on key areas of delivery and change.Prepares detailed analysis against the business plan to provide insight into the entity’s performance.Prepare tax (income tax/VAT) calculations and returns in line with Group Tax and statutory requirements.Continuous evaluation of finance processes and driving process optimisation within the teamProviding insights into accounting policies and technical opinions, where relevant.Managing of team members, provides training and support to junior staff members, to ensure accurate and timely reporting and effective operational delivery.Working together with key stakeholders across the business in achieve financial/actuarial/management reporting, financial control, and project objectives.Providing input into ad hoc projects, directly within the business or the broader segment finance teamDelivery of requirements for key objectives of various projects including but not limited to: Controls Improvement Project phase 2 & project rubix.

Qualifications and Experience required:Chartered Accountant (6+ years post article experience)Previous financial services experiencePrevious experience working with operational currencies other than ZAR.HFM/Onestream experience is desirable.Strong Excel skills with an aptitude and eagerness to learn various IT applications and platforms to enable process efficiencies. PowerBi (or similar tools) experience preferred.
