About the Role
As a Senior Finance Specialist Dealer Support, you will build, maintain, and manage successful relationships between internal business units and Dealers. You will support the APD strategy by providing value-added and timely financial insights to enable key decisions for business case execution. Support services growth by collaborating with district teams, deep diving data and leading projects to sustain dealer financial health and driving profitable growth. Help build a diverse and inclusive environment while driving a lean culture by enhancing reporting and toolset solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Dealer Financial Analysis/Financial Health:
Analyses confidential financial reports and evaluates the financial strength in assigned region(s). Along with the Finance Manager, assists dealers in financial planning, credit and collections, accounting, cash management, etc. Reports financial trends and problem areas affecting dealer performance and recommends solutions to the dealer, Region Finance, District and Vice Presidents.
Work with your peers in leading the deployment, training and embedment of analytical toolsets that support driving dealer profitable growth. The incumbent may also train, coach and mentor new Finance Reps and other members of the district/region and represent the Finance Manager during their absence. Responsible for identifying process improvements/efficiencies within district/region offices.
Asset Management:
Manages company receivables and administers payment policy to minimize past dues. Assists dealers in confidential continuity planning to analyse the financial impact on the dealership when transitioned to new owner. Analyses and evaluates proposals submitted by prospective dealer candidates and make recommendations relative to acceptability.
Financial Institution Relationship:
Provides assistance to dealers in obtaining affordable financing and flexible credit line arrangements from financial institutions. Analyses existing lending agreements and takes part in negotiations with the dealers and their lenders for mutually acceptable legal documentation to protect company assets.
Projects and Supporting Role:
Leads/participates in projects to enhance/automate current dealer financial reporting and analysis. Provides valuables insights to business partners for better decision-making.
Other Governance:
Monitors compliance to Dealer Finance Procedures, Sarbanes Oxley Act and Treasury Letters
Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time
Generally, the role requires about 15% - 25% travel within assigned territories to drive collaboration with Dealer, District and Business Units to understand regional business conditions.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Financial Markets: Knowledge of the products, types, competitors, customer base, major issues and regulatory considerations in the financial markets; ability to apply financial market knowledge to various business environments.
Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or Business Analytics
5 (plus) years practical experience in financial management and corporate finance
Previous experience with PowerBI
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good financial and data analytical skills and understanding of commercial needs
Top Candidates will also have:
Previous Credit/Risk Management/Treasury experience
Knowledge of Caterpillar business operations as well as knowledge of Caterpillar dealership operations highly preferred
Position collaborates with dealers on complex financial issues in multiple countries. Responsible for managing financial decisions involving currency fluctuations, changing political and social environments. Individual may live in the field and finance manager is traditionally off-site. Individual must be qualified to work in a stand-alone environment.

This position requires the candidate to work full-time in the Caterpillar Tullamarine office
