We currently have an opening for an experienced **Senior Finance Manager - Microsoft AI Infrastructure** to join the Consumer Margin and Microsoft AI team. This team provides strategic resource allocation decision support across Microsoft AI (training) efforts and consumer businesses.This role involves managing the supply and demand of **Central Processing Unit (** CPU), **Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)** and Storage resources for research and training, ensuring alignment with organizational growth objectives. A significant focus will be on capacity planning, which includes defining key milestones, prioritizing objectives, and mitigating potential bottlenecks. Additionally, the role aims to develop foundational expertise in datacenters and foundational model training requirements, which will be essential for contributing effectively to compute planning efforts.

**Responsibilities**
**Infrastructure Planning**
+ Develop and maintain the Microsoft AI (MAI) compute roadmap, keeping it updated to the latest requirements and datacenter technologies. Collaborate with research and product teams to align compute plans with internal roadmaps, ensuring resource availability across Research and Development (R&D) projects.
+ Establish understanding of relevant frontier model training paradigms and advances in AI compute. Communicate key points to finance and Data Center (DC) Operations stakeholders, ensuring end-to-end understanding of MAI’s needs.
+ Establish key compute efficiency metrics across research and product. Monitor, analyze, and report on these metrics regularly to drive continuous improvement.
+ Financially assess investments using sophisticated and flexible models, and provide guidance and influence on financial strategies, investment prioritization, and resource allocation decisions.
+ Identify areas for improvement and efficiency and partner with stakeholders to execute on opportunities.
**Finance Rhythm of Business (ROB) / Business Health**
+ Partner with Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) teams to ensure computing and infrastructure strategies align with broader financial objectives and business strategy
+ Lead and manage rhythm of business activities, including financial processes such as month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, and other key financial rhythms to ensure accurate and timely financial insights across Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and Profit and Loss (P&L).
+ Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and insightful financial reports, analyses, and forecasts, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities to facilitate informed decision-making to stakeholders and executives

**Qualifications**
**Required/minimum qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
+ OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years capacity planning and infrastructure strategy expertise managing the supply and demand of compute resources
+ 3+ years financial modeling capabilities experience with the ability to synthesize complex data, and communicate actionable insights to cross-functional stakeholders.
Additional or preferred qualifications
+ 8+ years of financial analysis experience, preferably in a high-tech company.
+ Revenue Planning and/or Consulting experience a plus.
+ Demonstrated communication & presentation skills. Can easily present complex financial issues to non-finance executives.
+ Demonstrated experience in developing complex financial models and scenario analysis, able to show quantitative analysis skills.
+ Ability to influence and impact without authority, operate in ambiguity, and solve difficult problems, combined with the ability to prioritize and function well in a dynamic and matrixed environment.
+ Interpersonal and cross group collaboration skills. Ability to drive simplicity within a complex and matrix environment
Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
