As a Sr. Finance Director in Cat Technology, you will provide leadership, guidance, and support for all critical finance functions for the Autonomy & Automation and Cat Electronics business including financial reporting & analysis, forecasting, and investment analysis. This role works across highly diverse and global teams to provide strategic counsel and deliver insights that drive the business forward and partners with the business to develop solutions and services that meet customer needs and drive profitable growth. The role reports to the Division CFO of Cat Technology and supports the VPs of Autonomy & Automation and Cat Electronics.

What You Will Be Responsible For:

Providing leadership and oversight of financial reporting & analysis, finance operations and investment analysis

Providing technical guidance and expertise on accounting issues

Leading the development of financial forecasts and the annual business plan

Providing strategic counsel to enhance performance and position the business for long-term success

Developing essential business information to drive optimization of short and long-term value creation and the achievement of financial and non-financial objectives.

Ensuring proper analysis and focus on return-on-investments are driven in accordance with maximum total outcome for the enterprise

Delivering commercial support for the development of new business models, product introductions and pricing decisions

Partnering with legal, compliance and commercial teams from contract development through review, approval, and execution

Collaborating across the Cat Technology Division and the broader Caterpillar enterprise to ensure an enterprise focus is maintained

Driving a compliance first culture through ensuring high integrity reporting and a strong financial and regulatory (trade, anti-bribery, data privacy and fair competition) control environment

Fostering a strong business risk management governance process

Leading the development of the team through providing timely coaching and feedback, training opportunities, challenging assignments, and a career planning partnership

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance related discipline

Prior leadership experience and organizational capability building

Strong analytical skills and rigorous attention to detail required to oversee detailed financial analysis & the development of business insights

Strong ability to collaborate, influence and partner with the business and peers

Ability to maintain an enterprise point of view and lead with Caterpillar values (Integrity, Commitment, Teamwork, Excellence and Sustainability)

Skills Needed:

Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Organization Structuring: Understanding of the value of aligning team capabilities with business goals and ability to develop staff, processes and operational relationships that support optimal performance.

Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.

Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

Deep expertise in Caterpillar’s accountable methodology with previous experience implementing and managing organizational change

Familiarity with Caterpillar accountable cost allocation processes with a track record of successful business partnering across various reportable segments

Strong background in financial accounting, cost accounting & investment analysis and budget development

Strong communication skills and executive presence

Interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence required to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others to take specific action

Credentialed expertise - Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant with practical experience involving technical accounting and reporting issues

Additional Details:

Location: 5-days/wk onsite in Mossville, Illinois

Relocation available for those who qualify

Limited travel (< 20%)

Summary Pay Range:

$199,680.00 - $299,520.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
