Senior Field Specialist MARS

Job Purpose:                          

The Senior Field Specialist MARS (Mature Asset Rejuvenation through Surveillance) is responsible for supporting our Country and Geozone teams with field operations, training and development of the MARS product offering. The Senior Field Specialist should have extensive experience with DAS/DTS (Distributed Acoustic Sensing/Distributed Temperature Sensing) unit hardware, software and fibre optic cable splicing and preparation. The Senior Field Specialist should also have a working knowledge of energy industry applications and data interpretation. The Senior Field Specialist will serve as the lead on MARS field operations and shall support with training, knowledge transfer and ensure field operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner at all times.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Participate in overall product strategy, R&D requirements, development priorities and new product forecasts. Interface with the engineering, design the best product solutions and provide guidance based on previous operational and field experience, liaison with operations. Facilitate and support the coordination of prototype testing at the R&D facility as required by the engineering group. Provide technical support and guidance for any problem that may be encountered during the business development, applications design, commercialization, field installation and training process Liaise with Geozone to support operations and business development as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Partner with a variety of functional areas such as sales, operations, engineering, manufacturing, and operations to develop and to provide product definitions in response to Operation’s needs and market opportunities Support the development of technical work instructions, competency and training material, presentations, sales literature, technical sales sheets, real results and financial plans. Provide financial and technical justification for product selection/justification and definition. Coordinate required support with R&D and Manufacturing for all Product Line Equipment. Coordinate support for legacy equipment and software.

Experience & Education:

Minimum 5 years’ experience with DAS/DTS interpretation hardware and software.  Minimum 5 years’ experience with optical interpretation. Minimum 5 years’ experience with fibre splicing.  Knowledge and understanding of fibre optic applications in the energy industry. Minimum 5 years’ experience in field operations. Complex problem-solving and analytical skills. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively across a diverse multicultural multilingual community. Familiarity with reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Skills in examining tenders, market conditions and operational requirements. Familiarity with mathematical operations such as frequency distributions, test reliability and validity, variance analysis, correlation techniques, and factor analysis. Experience in strategic planning and execution is preferred. This role will require international travel of up to 75%.
