Senior Field Service Technician

As a **Field Service Technician** , you’ll perform field service activities at customer sites in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. You’ll be responsible for troubleshooting systems, maintaining equipment (mechanical, electrical, diesel), conducting preventive maintenance, managing parts inventory, and identifying safety issues across both company-owned and customer-owned equipment. This role includes direct customer interaction, travel to various job sites, and exposure to a variety of technologies. If you're driven by innovation, service, and making a real impact, bring your skills to Xylem and help us solve water challenges to create a more sustainable world. **Key Responsibilities** To succeed in this role, the individual must be able to perform the following duties: + Ensure a safe working environment at all times and promote a safety-first culture. + Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshoot systems across mechanical, electrical, and diesel platforms. + Manage parts inventory and perform basic repairs. + Maintain company property, tools, and vehicles. + Demonstrate accountability, innovation, and a results-oriented mindset. + Work effectively both independently and in a team setting. + Represent Xylem professionally during all customer interactions. **Requirements** **Travel Requirements** + Daily local travel is required. + Up to 25% overnight travel. **Driving Requirements** + Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. + Must pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check. + Must complete required driver documentation, including: + Driver Disclosure and Release + Employee Drug and Alcohol Statement + FMCSA Certificate of Awareness + Driver’s Certificate of Violations + Statement of On-Duty Hours + Road Test + Copy of Medical Certificate **Education & Experience** + High school diploma or equivalent required. + 0–2 years of technical work experience (1 year preferred). + Must be able to obtain required customer site clearances. + Ability to obtain DOT Medical Card. + Previous experience in a similar field is preferred but not required. **Skills & Qualifications** + Mechanical, electrical, diesel, and/or fusion experience (depending on business unit). + Comfortable working independently without direct supervision. + Strong technical and troubleshooting skills. + Proficient with Microsoft Office and smart devices. + Customer service mindset with strong communication skills. + Ability to synthesize technical information and present it clearly. + Able to derive insight from customer experience and adapt solutions creatively. **High-Impact Behaviors** + **Continuous Professional Development** – Lifelong learner with a commitment to self-improvement. + **Collaboration & Teamwork** – Works effectively with others and values diverse perspectives. + **Results-Driven** – Delivers high-quality outcomes efficiently and takes ownership of objectives. **Compensation and Benefits** The estimated salary range for this position is $22 to $28 plus bonus.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
