**Position Summary:**
Xylem is seeking a **Field Service Technician** to install, service, and maintain water purification equipment for our customers across Houston, TX and surrounding areas. This position will involve work in environments that include **wastewater systems** , which can include exposure to unpleasant odors and conditions.

The role includes hands-on fieldwork using a company service vehicle and offers standard day-shift hours, with opportunities for overtime and occasional evening/weekend work. Candidates with backgrounds in **HVAC, plumbing, electrical work or diesel/mechanical systems** are highly encouraged to apply.
**What You'll Do:**
+ Install, maintain, and service water purification equipment
+ Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical system issues
+ Identify and resolve safety concerns on both company and customer-owned equipment
+ Provide direct customer support and represent Xylem on-site
+ Work across multiple customer sites and technologies, including wastewater systems
+ Maintain and care for company tools, vehicles, and equipment
+ Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
+ Work both independently and in team environments
**Travel Requirements:**
+ **Daily/local travel** to customer sites within the Houston area
+ **Occasional overnight travel** : approximately **1–2 times per month** , typically **2–3 days per trip**
**Requirements:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ 0–2 years of technical experience (1 year preferred)
+ Prior customer service experience required
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices
+ Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and communication skills
+ Clean driving record and ability to safely operate a company service vehicle
+ Able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
**Compensation & Benefits:**
**The estimated salary range for this position is $26–$30/hour.** Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location.
