Join our Smart Infrastructure team in Cairo as a Senior Field Service Engineer – Protection Systems and be a key technical leader in commissioning and optimizing next-generation system protection solutions.

You’ll make an impact by:

Leading Testing & Commissioning activities for protection and automation systems (MV/HV), primarily for Siemens technologies. Preparing and executing comprehensive SAT/FAT protocols, method statements, and commissioning documentation in line with utility and project-specific standards. Conducting Pre-FAT/FAT with customers for advanced protection systems including AVR, LIBBP/HIBBP, TIP, and related panels. Diagnosing complex protection system issues, performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and delivering expert-level fault reports and resolutions. Creating and implementing logic configurations using Siemens protection platforms, with hands-on experience in tools such as DIGSI, IEC 61850 SCL editors, and relay communication protocols. Performing advanced testing of protection relays and schemes using OMICRON Test Equipment with Test Universe TU4.20+ including modules for Distance, Line/Transformer Differential, State Sequencer, and Transplay. Executing 500kV/220kV/66kV substation protection schemes including Line Differential, Distance Protection, Busbar Protection (LIBBP/HIBBP), and Transformer/Shunt/Series Reactor protection. Conducting Differential Stability Testing using CMGPS and other advanced relay testing techniques. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Project Management, and local and international customers. Staying up to date on emerging technologies such as Process Bus, RTUs, and competitor products to provide best-in-class service.

Your success will be grounded in:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics & Communication, or related fields. 5+ years of proven hands-on experience in field service, testing, and commissioning of protection and automation systems in a utility, power generation, or high-voltage infrastructure environment. Specialized knowledge in Siemens protection systems (SIPROTEC 4/5, Reyrolle, Power Quality systems), IEC 61850 protocols, GOOSE messaging, BCPU/BCU logic design, and .scd/.icd/.cid file creation. Advanced proficiency with OMICRON Test Equipment and Test Universe modules. Deep understanding of high-voltage protection schemes and substation control logics. Exposure to working in a multicultural and fast-paced project environment. Strong communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are a plus. A high degree of self-motivation, responsibility, and ability to work independently or lead technical discussions on-site.
