Job Overview

The Senior Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility operations, maintenance, and management to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective environments that support organizational objectives and enhance workplace experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement comprehensive facilities management strategies and operational plansOversee maintenance programs for building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and securityManage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure service delivery meets or exceeds established standardsDirect capital improvement projects and space planning initiativesDevelop and manage departmental budgets with focus on cost optimization and value creationEnsure compliance with building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standardsLead emergency response protocols and business continuity planningSupervise facilities staff and provide mentorship for professional developmentEstablish and monitor key performance indicators for facilities operationsImplement sustainability initiatives and energy management programsCollaborate with various departments to align facility operations with organizational goalsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field7+ years of progressive facilities management experienceProfessional certification preferred (FMP, CFM, IFMA, BOMA, or equivalent)Proven experience managing complex building systems and operationsStrong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry best practicesExperience managing capital projects and vendor relationshipsDemonstrated success in budget management and cost reduction initiativesExcellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsSkillsStrategic planning and executionTechnical knowledge of building systems and operationsFinancial management and budget controlProject management and prioritizationTeam leadership and developmentRisk management and complianceContract negotiation and vendor managementData analysis and performance measurementStrong communication and stakeholder managementCrisis management and decision-makingWorking ConditionsPrimary office environment with regular facility walk-throughsMay require occasional evening/weekend availability for emergencies or scheduled maintenanceSome travel may be required for multi-site responsibilitiesMust be able to access all areas of facilities including mechanical spaces, roofs, etc.
