International Risk and Control sits within International Card Services (ICS) which comprises of all the issuing functions across all 28 international markets excluding the US - colleagues operate across a variety of geographies and disciplines. ICS issues products to our Consumer and Commercial customers – the organization is an integral part of the global growth strategy for American Express; offering differentiated products and services is critical to our success and promises to drive significant growth and value through the delivery of innovative products, tailored to the needs of our customers. Our organization of ~500 colleagues helps our international businesses manage risk, respond to new regulation, and develop new products whilst creating and nurturing effective partnerships across multiple key stakeholders across the organisation. The organisation also leads an enterprise-wide International Financial Crimes Transformation and Privacy programmes.
The Senior Executive Assistant will be a key member of the International Risk and Control Team supporting a senior leader. The role is ideal for someone who is proactive, highly organised, able to manage their own time and prioritise effectively, and can lead during times of ambiguity. This role is centred around building effective collaborative partnerships across many international markets.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Complex and comprehensive calendar management across multiple time zones, dealing with incoming meeting requests and correspondence in a timely manner while balancing the needs of the Senior Exec and her leadership team Coordinating logistics for meetings, including scheduling of conference rooms, catering, and technology support as required Managing planning and logistics for internal and external meetings, including Town Halls, roundtables, leadership meetings, planning sessions and virtual / offsite events Developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across global offices as well as with an internal network of Executive Assistants Managing international and domestic travel arrangements including air, hotel, transfers, and agendas Preparing, reviewing, and processing expense reports in a timely manner and in line with company T&E policy Reviewing submitted expense reports on behalf of leader Supporting team administration including on-boarding for new hires, updating distributions. Processing invoices and requisitions. Proactively identify and resolve administrative issues and challenges.Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting senior leaders. For internal applicants, experience supporting B50+ is not required but would be preferred. Proven experience in supporting senior executives with exceptional organisational, administrative, and interpersonal skills. A keen attention to detail and a sense of urgency in execution and follow-up. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced organization and manage multiple tasks and conflicting and changing priorities with little direction. A strong sense of integrity with ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain complete confidentiality. Positive attitude, solution-oriented, proactive, able to prioritise, and reliable. Intermediate to advanced computer skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Flexibility, ability to work effectively in a team, anticipate needs and seeks ways for leader’s organisation to run efficiently.
