About the Role 

 

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Substation Estimator in either Milton QLD, Melbourne VIC or Sydney NSW, for Downer’s Energy & Utilities business unit reporting to the Estimating Manager. The Senior Estimator will ensure accurate estimates of the total cost of projects are completed on time and in accordance with required technical and company standards. The ideal candidate will envision themselves attending to duties such as:

Ensure tender compliance with all relevant standards, codes, and regulationsProvide advice and technical support to enable successful project/business outcomes and deliveryTo work in liaison with Project Delivery Staff to ensure that proposals are priced in accordance with current operating proceduresTo ensure compliance with the Downer Standard through tender development, approval, negotiation, and final handover to the Project Delivery TeamDevelop strategic alliances with suppliers and subcontractorsNon-conformances are corrected within prescribed timeframes.

 

About You  

 

Experience in the Power, Substation and BESS industry and or experience working with civil or electrical estimates is preferredProvide sound, qualified decision-making to the estimating process, following process and protocolsDriven by a focus on results and excellence, with a high degree of autonomy and a sense of urgencyRelationship builder capable of communicating at all levelsAdvanced knowledge of detailed engineering, planning, and schedulingExposure in estimating software Candy, plus Excel is preferred
