Senior Environmental Specialist Lead

Position Overview The Senior Environmental Specialist Lead will oversee the day-to-day operations and compliance to the environmental regulations outlined by the city of San Antonio and the State of Texas. Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where we assemble class 6 – 8 commercial trucks. The site production schedule is Mon- Thurs (4x10), 5:30AM – 4:00PM with occasional recovery days as needed. Responsibilities Partner with cross-functional department managers in the plant to help maintain, achieve, and improve the environmental conditions in the area Partner with the Health & Safety department to create and maintain a strong Environmental, Health and Safety culture Ensure that all yearly environmental permits (TCEQ, SWPPP, SPCC plan) are submitted for approval and coordinate ISO14001 and 50001 certifications Develop and facilitate environmental training classes Develop environmental strategies, plan and execute projects. Provide expertise to projects and key risk areas Perform environmental assessments and studies Collaborate with International’s Corporate environmental team on North America strategies and initiatives Accountable for compliance with all applicable regulatory, plant and corporate EHS, OSHA & Security related policies and procedures Establish environmental goals for the facility and develop programs to achieve the goals Perform daily/weekly/monthly monitoring of environmental measurements and reporting these numbers to plant and corporate Participate in continuous improvement activities and resourcing environmental services in alignment with Manufacturing 4.0 principals Coordinate and provide leadership to Environmental Liaison teams and programs across the site Maintain and promote a team relationship within the site operations team Conduct water and environmental quality testing in an outdoor environment Execution and monitoring of Plant's Waste Management Plan Work with local government organizations Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree At least 8 years of environmental health and safety experience in manufacturing facility 1 year of lead experience OR Master’s degree At least 6 years of environmental health and safety experience in manufacturing facility 1 year of lead experience OR At least 10 years of environmental health and safety experience in manufacturing facility 1 year of lead experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
