Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Transportation team, of the US South Sector, based in our Rome or Atlanta GA office and have the opportunity to work on a variety of transportation and infrastructure projects responsible for environmental compliance on construction activities.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Conducting or assisting with the environmental training program for Environmental Inspectors, construction supervisors, and other construction personnel.Conducting training of field supervisors in effectively implementing project-specific Environmental Compliance Plan and other environmental documents.Establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with the Construction Management Team and Contractor.Communicating and coordinating with third-party FERC Compliance Monitors on construction activities and compliance issues.Overseeing contractor implementation of environmental conditions and mitigation measures as set forth in the project’s Plan and Procedures, the FERC Certificate, and all other permits, clearances, or other authorizing documents.Overseeing installation, maintenance, and removal of all erosion and sediment control measures, including photo documentation.Overseeing crossings of flowing waterbodies, including any deviation from plans and photo documentation before, during, and after construction and restoration.Overseeing ROW restoration including reseeding. Notifying and scheduling needed technical support personnel (biologists, archaeologists, etc.).Overseeing implementation of the project’s Unanticipated Discovery Plan, including notification to appropriate client and agency personnel, and establishing and maintaining necessary exclusion zones. Reviewing all contractor-initiated variances, and forwarding documentation to the Field Environmental Manager for processing.Authoring daily inspection reports, including photo documentation, and reviewing the Environmental Inspector daily reports before forwarding to the Field Environmental Manager for distribution.Overseeing Contractor spill response, including reports listing material(s) involved, quantity, location. Overseeing installation of Project signage and environmental flagging by the Contractor.Conducting environmental training for and accompanying all agency personnel visiting the Project. Identifying potential issues and concerns ahead of construction activities.Coordinating environmental sampling, as required.Assisting ROW personnel in landowner disputes related to environmental resources.
What your experience looks like
Skill in preparing clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to take detailed meeting notes and distribute to attendees. Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal to moderate supervision.
